Seriously impressive stuff this. He "gets Durham" and is appreciated by all members. Another superb addition to the club and another example of feeling as though the club are making amends after some tough times pre Campbell where the relationship between club/staff/members wasn't great. This addition will further strengthen that relationship.
Think Lancs had him lead the team for some of the 50 over stuff while the Hundred was on so they saw something worth developing

Some decent pace bowlers developed at Lancs in the 3 or so seasons.

Highly thought of down Lancs and took over the 50 over side this year. I think a few fancied him for the top job, they're a bit shocked with this news.

Hard for anyone to know I think a big part of cricket is having club people involved tho. I do think it has an impact as local identity is important for counties, more so than football

Good news indeed and he's certainly Durham through and through. One of the funnier sights in the 2nd XI home games against Lancs in 2021 and 2022 was the sight of Bunny walking around the boundary and having a nod and a chat with the home spectators while Messrs Franklin and North made their imaginary calls on their mobiles.
If he's as good a coach as he was a bowler for us then our success last season will continue.
