I'll bet Onions is very bemused by this but if he snubs the Lions there's probably every chance his full England career will be ended abruptly.

We've seen what happens if you don't kow-tow to the England hierarchy.

Would not be suprised if Whitaker has made this call to bring Onions back into the England fold. He was selected for a lot of squads when Whitaker was the northern selector appears the stumbling block may have been the actual coaches.
