Onions Broken Finger

Little finger broken yesterday playing against Scotland. Doubtful for Fifth Test. Durham hoping he'll be fit for Surrey at home in the Championship on 22 August.

Mark Wood has gone well off the boil since we tried him in limited overs cricket a few months ago.

Onions might be a better option playing & bowling with a open palm grip :eek:
 
I'm worried Onions might be out for some time. We need all the help we can get for our run in to the title.
 
Anyone know if its his bowling hand?? Even still, how debilitating can a broken little finger be?? Bowlers generally don't use it to grip the ball......

A broken little finger needs to be strapped to the ring finger. It would presumably also affect his fielding.
