I had what I consider was a tough job running a hill livestock farm in all weathers and at all hours.

However when I watch those lads on Deadliest Catch, my job was a doddle in comparison.

Nightshift Road Maintenance takes some balls.

People flying past at 70+mph, 3am and starting to get a bit dreary.

Takes one person to drift too much and al you have protecting you is a traffic cone.

lad from school was killed doing this job. Was only 18. First job. Was in the van when another road user lost control (fell asleep at the wheel iirc) and smashed into the back of his stationary vehicle. Catapulted out of the front windscreen and died from his injuries.
