One Day Cup :: Durham v Derbyshire

brandon

Interesting coincidence that Durham will play Derbyshire in a winner takes all game to end the group stage of a white ball competition for the second time this season.

Ben McKinney has been selected to play for the Lions this week, so he’ll miss out. Could see a return to the top of the innings for the Lees/Jones partnership.

On an anti-cricket related topic, a washout here and for Hampfrica (or a loss for them) sees us go through :D

That was a great finish yesterday by our lads down at Kent.

Hopefully we can win on Wednesday without any loss of fingernails.

I was thinking that, but maybe it depends if any of the 100 players are available? Particularly Clark. IIRC, Jones best display in the comp so far has been when he came in at 6 (or7) at Sedbergh and put on 50 in 10 minutes with Ackermann. Campbell has said there will be changes, so anyone’s guess 😁

As if the crisp packet cup being the same time as the ODC isnt enough now we're losing players to the england lions ffs

I made the point on the McKinney thread that while it’s brilliant for the lad, it’s a further insult to a number of counties who will now lose key players for the final group game and Quarter Final should they make it.

It’s of course a ‘weakened’ Lions side because those involved with Crisp Packet cup teams have been exempted from selection.

Its a discussion we've had so many times im sure we're all sick of it, you can't imagine FTECB could have drawn up a more farcical schedule if they were trying to kill the game off

Raine and Coggers back but McKinney with Lions
Derbyshire have Aneurin Donald released from Birmingham Phoenix but no Durham players released.

So has Raine been injured or just rested I would pick the 4 main seamers a bit of Ackerman and then decide who would make best 5th bowling option.

Should be able to make a decent 11 from that 14.

Derbyshire have named a 13-player squad for their Metro Bank One-Day Cup fixture against Durham at the Seat Unique Riverside Stadium tomorrow (11am).
Aneurin Donald is available for selection having been released by Birmingham Phoenix, and could make his List A debut for Derbyshire tomorrow.
Zak Chappell has picked up 15 wickets, putting him joint-third for the most in the competition, and will be hoping to close in on top spot with a strong performance up north.
Pat Brown has returned to to Northern Superchargers, having featured against Kent, while Daryn Dupavillon is absent after picking up a knock against Kent. He will be rested for this game, as he works towards the return of red ball cricket next week.
For Derbyshire to qualify for the quarter-finals, they must win and hope Hampshire fail to beat Middlesex, or defeat Durham by a big enough margin to overhaul the current net run-rate deficit between Derbyshire and Hampshire.

Derbyshire Squad:
04. Harry Came
10. Luis Reece
12. Aneurin Donald
16. Harry Moore
18. Yousaf Bin Naeem
21. Samit Patel (c)
22. Mitch Wagstaff
26. Nick Potts
29. Brooke Guest
32. Zak Chappell
46. David Lloyd
59. Sam Conners
65. Anuj Dal

Not only have Durham not had any players released but Ackerman has been called into the Leeds side for the 16.4….
