On this day 2014

Never been through as many emotions following Durham as I did on that day. Fighting back tears for Breesy at the end, can’t think of anyone who deserved their moment more.

Crazy day. We missed out on the "cheap" rail tickets during the semi final so we ended up having to drive down, left home 3am, we got tickets in the Grandstand and the view was class. Stayed just outside London as backup if it went to a reserve day. Whole mixture of emotions all day, crazy game which in truth I don't think any of us enjoyed until the very end.

Unreal day

I was on the 0612 from Durham on two hours sleep. Managed to get some kip but I was death reheated that day. Got back to Durham at around 10 and slept until lunchtime the next day.

Can’t remember when exactly but Stokes (I think) hit a shot towards the grandstand and a Bears fielder just missed it by a fingertip. Even though it was far from done you could feel the momentum switch in that single moment.

We spoke to Goughy at Hartlepool train station coming home the day after and he was saying it was tough for him to watch from the other end when Patel was ripping us apart. He was fantastic that day.

I also still enjoy telling people how the winning runs were scored by a leave, the best shot in the book.

Was a great memory this. I bought a jacket from the club shop and the member of staff asked if I wanted this trophy win embroidered onto the jacket for free

I’ve still got the coat but it’s a bit tight around hump’s now

I spotted @NorthCountryBoy iirc in the crowd with a very neat outfit on fir the day

It also brings back old POLEDANCER who brought me a programme back and only asked that I texted him the safc news on the day

Hope the old lad is RIP in great style
