On the beach or sussed out?

Poor tactics and players half arsed for me . . Job done and safe . . Players like Diarra do not care about us finishing above the mags

Few things
A couple percent drop off is massive at this level
Achieved our target for the season plus more
Same 15/16 players been flogged to death this season
Playing in flip flops
World cup/ risk of injury
Tactics sussed out slightly
Lack of attacking guile

These threads are madness, Villa away should of won after coming back from 3-1 down, good save from Diarra or a bad miss and Villa who are in the champs league places and Europa Semi finalists scored a late goal. Forest Europa League semi finalists, in form atm and fighting to stay in the premier league:- 1st goal lucky with the deflection off Hume, brain fart moment from Roefs for the 2nd which killed us, then a mad 10 minutes from us, 2nd half, a dodgy VAR call to take off our goal and poor officiating when we should of had a penalty too...basically one of those days where nothing goes right for you and now Wolves away, we were playing well, go 0-1 up, in crusie control and then a disgraceful decision from the ref and VAR to send off Ballard which turned the game but a great effort from the lads playing away 70 minutes with 10 men to get a draw and not lose. Also we are safe 100% which was the aim at the start of the season for us. All this Europe talk has people expecting too much from us in our first season back, still a possibility with 3 games to go but some fans need to calm down and stop the negative rubbish.

People need a reality check… there was a very good chance we will not do as well next season as this. That start was unprecedented… we probably won’t do that again.

I agree , how many times in last let’s says 60 years have we had a chance to finish in Europe via league?

Twice I recall at start of century and we blew it both times from excellent positions, this time we had another decent chance and I’d say with our history it’s more likely too not happen again for a long time

What do we think?
I think we have tired players who have played too many games and a waifer thin squad riddled with injuries and not enough quality in the squad !mot rotate the players !’n
The beach. They’ve been shocking. You can clearly see the urgency isn’t there. Second balls we lose most. Set pieces terrible .. and the worst thing is our passing. It’s dreadful. Must be shite at those passing drills in training
The players are tired man we don’t have the squad to rotate the team

We have exceeded all expectations with a very small and very new squad.

It's probably a little of each below
Tired
Job done
World Cup approaching

Pffffff, we're gonna win the whole bloody thing next year man

I am confident that the Club does have a plan that goes beyond just surviving in the Premier League. I know they every Club in the league says that it has ambition but I think that Kyril and co have devised progressive objectives for each season.

I am just guessing but after "surviving" season one comes establishing yourself comfortably in the league. We have exceeded all expectations in terms of survival this season but a few cracks are beginning to appear. That's understandable because I guess that we probably put a team together that should in reality be finishing around 15th place.

It's obvious that in order to progress to the next stage we need to improve the squad over the summer . We have the core of a very good team but don't forget this is only Regi's second season in English football and his first in the Premier League. I am sure that he will now have a much clearer idea of the sort of players that he needs to make further headway.

I believe that we will see some departures this summer and also some arrivals but not as many as we did last year. We are looking at fine tuning not a rebuild.

Unlucky against Villa. A poor performance but freak finishing efficiency vs Forest and a daft red meaning 10 men for most of the game vs Wolves.
The squad is probably tired, our core have been overused a bit, by necessity and clubs will obviously have a better idea about us now but I wouldn’t say we are either on the beach or found out.

Both lazy explanations. Definitely not on the beach, and when people say ‘sussed out’ they never elaborate as to what aspect of our game might have been sussed.

We won a lot of tight games first half of the season. Since about West Ham away we've been blown away in a few games and in tight games our football luck has run out .

In 2026 we've only beaten Palace Burnley Newcastle Leeds and Spurs

A few of them will have one eye on the World Cup, but if we have 11 men on the field we probably get the 3 points. Regis’ second half of season form is a worry though, but then again we’re safe so he’s done his job.
I've been wondering this myself, they should in no way be "on the beach". I'd be very disappointed if anyone connected with the playing side was, we're 3pts off 8th ffs.

I’ll be disappointed too, but it’s the biggest window for players to showcase themselves to get a big move, plus it’s been a long season for some with qualifying. Next season will be the acid test, no AFCON or World Cup to interrupt our season.

For all but one player it was their first season in premier. You can have Traore and Arthur as well if your desperate

We’ve had a very light workload the past couple of months. RLB doesn’t use the 5 subs very often which makes little sense when you leave the likes of Gerty and Mayenda with no mins. You use the squad if you want them to remain fresh and competitive for their places.

Teams have also definitely worked us out.

The end of season is coming at a good time we can refresh the squad and also have a little bit of time working in pre season on things albeit the World Cup is going to further shatter players I fear.

We've won a lot this season through sheer mentality. We've consistently being one of the worst teams in the leagues in terms of chances created, we don't really blow teams away.

It's inevitable that our mentality will drop now that we're safe.

It might suit us to be playing Man U next - they're not going to be at full intensity and we've still got an outside chance of sneaking into Europe.

Think we have just mentally and physically konked out.

Not surprising. Lots of young players and the vast majority of the squad are new to the most physical league in the world and the goldfish bowl attention this league generates around the world.

Even if this drafts off to a crap end to the season us fans need to try and not react and see the overwhelming positives.

Where’s Chris Rea when you need him.

Great performance by the lads today putting to bed any argument about not being up for it or sussed out. Should have won today.
