On the beach or sussed out?

Take a step back, take a deep breath and cast your mind back to this time last year or at any point in the last decade.

Then, look up the stats on promoted teams surviving in the Premier League in modern times.

Tomorrow is Sunday, go to church, repent your sins and be thankful.

First game was a 7-1 cup win against Peterborough in 1967 mate. Just under 44k there, so I’ve been watching for quite a while.
So you should know that sometimes in a season clubs can have a couple of really bad weeks which we have had which was probably always going to happen as a newly promoted club

How do you mean? We were leading away today, and even having a man sent off we still played well and had some chances to win it.
Today was a good performance

Just a shame our run in is very tough compared to the visitors, looking unlikely we finish above them sadly. Hope I'm wrong.
Hope versus perspective. Newly promoted circa £140 million spent vs established, “richest club in the world” circa £790 million spent - why should we finish above them? We did take 6 points off them and stayed up comfortably, is that not enough?

Nope, I saw it but we still conceded 9 goals in a week.

So Conference league playing Lincoln Red Imps or Shamrock Rovers would fulfill that desire? And you’d see your team relegated to achieve it.
That's right.

But I am also rather hopeful that we would get more than one match in Europe and also not get relegated.

So we're better of not being successful. Canny

It’s the reality though. 70% of turnover as opposed to 85% makes a huge difference. Without knowing exact figures, say turnover was £200m this year the difference between the two is having £30m less to spend on transfers, wages and agents fees.

The beach. They’ve been shocking. You can clearly see the urgency isn’t there. Second balls we lose most. Set pieces terrible .. and the worst thing is our passing. It’s dreadful. Must be shite at those passing drills in training
Like the set pieces that we scored off today?

We have been missing 3 of our first choice back 4 for weeks on end and our keeper and have just got them back together. And people are seriously questioning why we have been poor defending set pieces? 🤣

Wasn’t it our main defence against Forest 👍 great point.
You could argue we were better with 09 in defence!

I'm not sure playing in the Conference League means relegation.

I'm more than happy with the season, even if we lose the next 3.
Beating them twice trumps finishing position, no question.
But finishing above them would be the cherry eh?

It is slightly concerning that two years running we've had quite contrasting first and second halves of the season, even just looking at how we had the third best defence to third worst.

It'll be interesting to see what we do in the summer and how we try to score more, third lowest in the league I think.
I think the only thing the 2 seasons have in common is lack of squad rotation. And when Reggie tried to rotate the squad in the last 5 games of last season we saw what happened

We didn't look great even before the sending off today but somehow got the lead. Fully expected us to comfortably win though as Wolves looked poor until being reduced to 10 men. I still thought we'd nick the win in last 10-15 minutes and wondered why we weren't maybe more adventurous earlier but appreciate it's difficult keeping up that level with 10 men all game. It's a shame we've thrown away these last few games as the opportunity for Europe was there to take but think it would bite us on the arse next season anyway.
Much better team before sending off, and came on stronger towards end even with 10 men.
