I imagine we'll sit in a pretty compact and fairly deep 4-4-2. One thing that'll be interesting is which midfielder joins Mayenda when we're out of position. I thought it would be Le Fee however it's looking more likely to be Diarra at the moment.

A slight issue with pressing when the opposition have the ball could be the much higher ability of players in this league. If our press gets beaten too easily we will need to consider whether it's viable or better to regroup more quickly.

Our signings suggest we'll press quite hard in midfield, which could suggest some kind of mid-block.

Sign one more €30m highly rated CB and we are well stacked in defence.

Just watching Phil Smith latest vid on YouTube. Says Alderete has only played 45 mins pre-season so unlikely to go straight in for West Ham
