Think he showed the difference between top level players and the rest. Ballard was amazing today, and Seelt did really well - but Alderete in possession of a football is a different level.

I think people assume that strikers and attacking players are the difference between Championship and a top league, but I’ve always thought you see it more in centrebacks.

Alderete looked calmer and more assured on the ball than most midfielders in the championship. I think that’s the difference - down a level and centrebacks are there to head the ball and block shots. But in the big leagues, they’re there to start the attack.
