I mean they were never getting much from wood
He was probably picked to hopefully win a test or 2 which he did in the previous Ashes in England. He broke down before he could do much at all unfortunately.

No argument there.
But elite sport is about winning not being mates.
Yes you want the national team to be a team your proud in. I never gave a toss about the England football team partly in the so called "golden generation" as they were all nobheads.
But most of the England cricket team are privately educated and or southerners. So not exactly representative anyway so no harm in another one in Robinson case.
Mind he said yesterday he wasn't ready for Aus. But I dunno whether that's him just trying to be more humble.
