The website and the podcast are two different entities. The Podcast creates revenue every time someone plays an advert - that money all goes directly to the soup kitchen. We donated £13k as part of the Christmas fundraiser and now we've just got it set up so that each month whatever revenue the podcast accrues goes directly to their bank account, cutting us out of the middle.

Feel better about wasting 5 minutes now 😉

Our only purpose here is to provide fans with any info we catch wind of - got nobody to help or protect but ourselves. I've heard about the possibility of fans buying some of the shares using crypto-trading off three different solid sources this morning, hence the update. Will be sure to provide further info to people if and when we hear it.
Appreciate it. Just not a fan of the idea at all, it's used to rip people off.

Not your issue though obviously.

Roker Report are clearly well connected to a range of sources on SAFC, I trust what's in the article. Fan shares via crypto is too niche a rumour to be bollocks imo.
Apologies I thought you were referring to a Sky article which referenced the pod. I really should pay more attention.

Does here marra -

"As revealed on a Roker Rapport Podcast news update which dropped earlier his morning, it’s believed that the incoming group have some interesting plans, and they’re expected to offer up some of their shares in the club to supporters using crypto-trading - something that would potentially make Sunderland AFC the first large club to have significant scale fan ownership."

Absolutely sucked all of my optimism out of me that has. Crypto scams and dodgy business is literally rife at the moment, fans are going to get shafted here is my initial thought.

This fan ownership thing sounds shite like.

We have a Supporters Trust now so here's hoping whoever these people are, they opt to speak directly to RAWA about how this can all work out for the best. As someone else said earlier in the thread I just hope that the crypto-trading idea is just that... an idea. If they're going to offer fans the chance to buy shares I'd prefer they did it via more traditional means.

"a smidge of new information which may excite supporters" - was the fact that the new group might offer the sale of shares to supporters not new news?
The fact they’re telling you lot they’re using crypto is a far bigger red flag tbh.
How much Bitcoin would it take to get Broadhead on a perm do we reckon?
500, no 250, no 50,000, no 12….
