I'm sure the media will know more than they are letting on. It's hardly newsworthy nationally. Yes, they'd get a few clicks from us in the short term but it's hardly worth jeopardising your relationship with the club for.
Sky Sports will obviously know more about it considering David Jones is on our board so they are going to want any proper exclusive and keep their traps shut until its official.

The rest though is eerily quiet. Nixon knows absolutely nothing. Pete O'Rourke doesn't seem to know anything, yet he's always the first to report transfers. All the local journos are getting absolutely nothing by the sounds of things.

Anything that is coming from an ITK should be taken with a healthy dose of scepticism for now. @Hawyatt Earp is a great poster and only passing on what he has seen, but you still have to question the intentions of CM to send an email out talking about us in the past tense. Everything he does has a narrative and reason behind it and we can't take anything he says at face value at all.

That sounds extremely promising. However it makes me less likely to believe that it is Reese and Ratcliffe involved. David Jones only said a few days ago that the SD/CM shares situation needed sorting out quickly to make sure the club isn't hamstrung. If the deal has happened this quickly and it's all done barring the legalities, it makes me more inclined to think it is somebody/a group who already has a connection with the club.
I found Jones comments the day of final very odd in terms of timing. Saying it should become clearer over the summer. If this was already in the pipeline his comments make a lot more sense

You might well be right. It was odd timing if I'm honest but I just put that down to him being nervous before the final and thinking that if we won (which we did) that more significant investment would be needed this summer and that would be difficult with them two still part funding the club.

The local media is case in point though. The amount of clickbait The Chronicle spewed out during the mags takeover was clearly being leaked by both sides. The Echo survives on click bait but as soon as a takeover gets mentioned for us they go out of their way to say they know nowt. It's no accident.

Now the chuckle brothers shares are worth more, I reckon all these leaks and talks of new investors is just a bluff to try force KLD into paying a premium. Way too many false dawns, i dont think I can buy into any of it.

They haven’t a hope of forcing KLD into anything imo, they’re well out of their league now. No doubt CM still trying though

yes absolutely..so their prioritires are that..though they also get sweetkheart deals off manchester council and will make fortunes on property dveelopment around the City as well..the club will also be profitbale now...
I can’t see how those kinds of contracts and the size of their WSL/ academy system could be profitable without massively inflated ‘sponsorship’ deals from their other businesses.

Although, and I think it’s why all the Americans are interested in football atm, that the value of data as a commodity will give them a huge paper value.

I know what you mean though. And I wasn’t aware of the deals they had with the council or the property development.

I fully expect this to become a much used phrase by the unwashed up in 2 or 3 years

Nowhere near enough money
How much do you think we could/should chuck at promotion from the Championship?

Suppose it depends who we end up in reality but I can see the benefit of someone with enough money to compete and be competitive without the moral quandry of the Saudi State Project or BlackRock. Probably not many options fall into that category I suppose.
