Probably nobody. Methven, having heard the fans calling him last Saturday, probably thought....aye I'll wind these fuckers up, i'll tell RR me and Donald are leaving....I'm just glad we're out that league tbh. I'm not expecting any outside investment at all, especially after hearing Speakman last week

In response to other points, I have no unshakeable agenda on anything discussed on here. And it’s hard to provide an opinion on rumours without names and details. If I was to ask ‘what do you make of these takeover rumours?’, I’m assuming you’d respond with ‘who’s rumoured to be taking over?’. If my response was to be ‘I don’t know’ to your question, presumably you wouldn’t able to express much of opinion on it.

In terms of the overall situation, we’ve been here before in the past. Little bits of info leaked to people and then whole stories taking off. German buyers, Spanish consortium, that crackerjack who went to Falkirk, Dell, FPP, KLD takeover…. it’s been an annual thing for five years. We’ve had ITKs, Roker Report and A Love Supreme all throwing their lot in with these stories of takeovers. Forgive me if I remain skeptical; particularly when the rumours circulating have the least amount of detail of any of the rumours to date.

To be fair, the Germans were in talks, the Spanish lot were all ready to sign on the dotted line with Madrox until Donald wanted a bigger slice of the pie and Donald then went to Short with the parachute payments plan and to be soon backed by Sartori. The bloke who went to Falkirk was shown around the SoL and AoL numerous times and was discussing transfer targets with Jack Ross. There was clearly something in those rumours. Dell were never involved, the general consensus is that FPP were interested but were spooked at a late stage by something in the accounts.

There was something in them all. At different stages, all were ‘done’ and accompanied by excitement (in a lot of cases). But they never actually were done for reasons you point out (often the people selling). Can add managerial appointments to that too (Poyet and Keane).

So I'm guessing Sartori is keeping his 20% along with KLD having his 42%?

I just cant get why KLD wouldn't want the rest of the shares himself? ...Who's going to come in and spend their money on a 38% share holding? Surely someone coming in at that level of investment is going to want closer to 50% and have some real say in the club?

Personally I think the Germans, FPP and even the Mark Campbell deal had a few hurdles to overcome. The advanced negotiations but still some way to go ilk stage. I know the Madr part of Madrox were ready to go to the relative authorities to finish the deal until Donald decided to move the goal posts. Poyet was all set to be announced too until he pulled out at the very last minute. I know it's a bit of a cliché but things in football can move very slowly but sometimes things can change at the click of a finger so people may have been posting info they thought was rubberstamped and done and then BAM it's off and they've made themselves look a bit silly.

In this instance, I do believe something is happening. That earlier statement, advanced but a long way to go, speaks a lot for me. It may be the case that the outline of a deal was done ahead of time in prospect of our promotion but either side may be wanting to do a bit more of due diligence or there's clauses, loans, debts or other stuff with other shareholders that they want clarifying or sorting before they take the plunge. I'm more confident this time because Dave Jones made a significant comment at Wembley about the ownership status and Tom White who is a big lads fan who you'd maybe think has been given a wink by aforementioned DJ that something is afoot has posted what he knows. I know Nixon is berated a little bit on here but there's many moving parts and I'd be surprised if he at least hasn't been tipped the wink too that something is happening albeit not exactly what, who or when.

Perhaps he wants to share the risk and have more than one wealthy investor on board..

Football (particularly at the top end) is an expensive hobby for one billionaire. Look at how many are involved in the toon? Even someone wealth as the suadi state, sorry, I mean PFI, don’t want complete control.

I just think he'll find it hard for someone to come in at 38% and be willing to take a backseat. Unless he's willing to give away more or sell completely.

I'm not a big fan of having too many cooks in the kitchen, it's rare to have everyone agreeing and being on the same page.
