I think the fact that many people aren’t familiar with DAOs might be one of the reasons people are a bit down on this.
A bit of background might help.
Here’s a recent example where a DAO unnecessarily paid more than a hundred times the asking price for a book about Dune and mistakenly believed it gave them the intellectual property rights to make films and other such stuff. The DAO community then imploded. This is not unusual.

Think if everyone just calmed down and thought about it, it's clearly Methven releasing PR bullshit to increase pressure and drive the price for the second bidder. There's not a chance these idiots have the finance to purchase Methven and Donald's shares. They haven't even paid the deposit yet so they've literally done nothing. They've been named and that's all Methven needed to cause a stir.
