Oatcake not happy again (at us again)

Their accountants must be very well paid and earn every penny of it. Thats absolutely shocking

Sold their own stadium to themselves a few weeks before that loophole got closed too, to improve their FFP related finances by about £70m.
But, I don't understand how that is sustainable for them. Did they just has s team full of Rodwells or something?

The Coates family own the club (and Bet365). It's basically a hobby for them and as they're lifelong fans, they're happy to write off the money as they are so rich.

To be fair if i was mega rich I’d happily give as much money to safc as was wanted / needed / allowed

I’d rather watch SAFC flourish than prance around on a yacht in montecarlo or Dubai

I don’t think they’ve used much thought and consideration in how they’ve spent it like but I dare say that’s at the hands of whoever they’ve employed as a director of sports or whatever the Speakmann / Dan Ashworth type of job title is

The family technically don't own us anymore. It is in the sole ownership of John Coates - although there are strong rumours that after they demerged, Bet365 bought back another 45M worth of shares in the club almost straight away. Accounts next year will be interesting to see if that's right.

How do they get away with non-compliance with the profit and sustainability rules?
We sold the stadium and training ground to ourselves right before the deadline of that being 'legal' and with the demerger in the summer, gave it back to ourselves again rent free. It's all a paperwork exercise at the end of the day.

Well that accounts for Ten Bob.

What about the rest of it?

Who cares about Stoke.

They are an utter irrelevance. I can’t even be bothered to be bothered by them.

Stanley Mathews and then nothing at all. Oh and someone called George.

The only reason this gets any mileage is because some baldy bloke who was at our club for five minutes went and cocked up at Stoke.

Tony Waddington’s team in the 70s was good , Alan Hudson etc.,

Mental really, and doesn't hide the fact that you are hemorrhaging money.

They did win the league Cup in 72, a certain Denis Smith in that side. Founder members of fl iirc too. They aren't a big club but there are many less relevant
