i thought it was only the deluded mags who thought they're a pair of charlatans. ashley's done a very good job there imo, and finishing 12th from a relegation battle is pretty decent work like. he's rank average as a manager is bruce but that is better than we've had since... well, pretty much since he left bar a few decent months out of alladyce

You don't seem to have picked up on my sarcasm.

Yes, Ashley has done a good job there, but he's not going to give the unwashed the success they crave.

While he has Bruce carrying out his orders, they'll continue to be flirting with relegation and the natives will continue to be restless.

Had the 3 that went down not
Made it so easy the pressure would have mounted and they would have been in a relegation fight, they only did well these last weeks because of zero pressure.

the same useless fat bastard who got us to a finish that no one has come close to matching since he left?

Yes, but he laid the foundations for the demise which followed.

Packing a Premier League side with loanees is no long term plan.

Using the Henderson money on 7 signings was watering down the quality replacements we needed.

The end of 2010/11 and the start of 2011/12 saw us win 5 out of 29 games.

They'll do well to hang on to Bruce.
Aye, to be fair they were unlikely to win the games they needed but at the time we were just bereft and they had a few okay results. But ultimately they were pretty awful over the season.
After the BHA how many more points would of been need to stay up? 2 or 3 maybe not even that,if SB had been sacked and Rafa or Shearer brought in they wad of called miracle workers for getting 3-4 points.

Quite happy that he's done enough to earn another season.

With the dream team of Ashley and Bruce, they will have another season, just like the last two and keep us amused no end !
Check the garden, to see if there is any glass left in your greenhouse.
Comes across as jelousy that mind
Honestly, there are 3 Newcastle related threads on the go. Best option is to keep the head down and forget about them.

We will never know mate. Bruce has got himself another season (and rightly so by the way) so we dust ourselves down and go again next season haha.

Your right, although i think he would of walked (not sacked) if you'd survived by a fannys hair.
Maybe, or he might have went if fans have been in the ground. But all in all 12th is not a bad effort but I'm not sure how much higher he can take us, and there's unlikely to be 3 worse teams in the league then the 3 that went down last season. Time will tell I guess.

Newcastle and Bruce both massively disliked by Sunderland fans, yet some on here are pleased to see Bruce and news comfortably survive and finish at the dizzying heights of 12th.
Been an absolutely dismal season but a decent run makes it look ok in the end.
Mad.
