As a Sunderland fan, I can respect your club as you have a great history, with working class roots and supported by genuine working class fans, like ourselves.

I’m being honest here but I think you’ve dodged a bullet with this deal as it’s sounding more and more like you would’ve been used as a massive advertising tool for dodge pot owners and sold down the river to people with no genuine interest in what your club is about.
I totally agree.

I will say, I won't be fully convinced it's done with until the arbitration ruling drops. Then we can start figuring out who is a legitimate buyer as I do firmly believe Ashley actually wants rid now. I hope whoever that is also tries to invest in the city itself. That was the only aspect of this that sort of got me. I have friends who are Man City fans and I've seen what they do locally (the reason is irrelevant) and you'd be mad not to want that for home, but even then I couldn't cheer the whole thing on or endorse it.

The stench of money has sent them giddy mate. Desperate to try and be relevant regardless of the damage it could potentially do to the club if it went tits up

clueless fans

Mate, go and check my posts, I've been consistent on this one. I appreciate I may seem pious, but the older I get the more I want to protect the purity of it all. I know we'll never have a Sir John Hall type or even someone that doesn't have skeletons, but there's levels to it, you know?

I won't make out like it's been easy, that would be insincere, but having read what I have about them I couldn't in good faith get behind it. You can make whatever straw man arguments you want for backing it, but at the end of the day it's one of the few powers or whatever you wish to call it left. They'll always be my club, but I'll not be going if it goes through. I'd be endorsing some truly awful behaviour if so.

Don’t believe it anyway mate, you must have gained a decent education from our fine establishment :)
Well obviously mate. But we don’t like to boast do we? Doesn’t hurt to keep in with the plebs. They might come in handy for something someday. Speaking of which, my privvy needs digging out.
