Has there ever been a player who has managed to blag an entire career out of a good 3-month run of form the way he has? Whoever his agent has done an unbelievable job with him

We have had 86 in top flight, 31 in 2nd tier, 4 in 3rd tier

The Mags on the other hand have had 89 in the top flight and 29 in the 2nd tier, 1 in the 3rd tier (non-league in fact, by choice)

@Cloughie suggests the Championship is our natural home at 25.6% of seasons, to their virtually identical 24.2%. A Mag struggling with the facts - what a surprise.

Throw in that they played third tier football 95 years before us and that we never played anything but top flight football until four years after the last time they won a major competitive trophy and it reminds me why Newcastle United FC once said in an official statement that "The Newcastle public do not deserve to be catered for as far as professional football is concerned"
Whoa whoa whoa, haaald on.

I said if we're basing attendances off 1990 onwards, are we doing the same thing for divisions? You can pick and choose when you draw these lines to fit whatever argument works for you.

"All-time" isn't really drawing a line, its the very definition of not drawing a line. If someone wanted to discuss modern era attendances that's a different subject and a different argument.

If someone wants to go and work out our all-time attendances then crack at it. Even I don't have that level of free-time.
