Not convinced like. Last time you raised decent money selling some good players, which allowed Benitez to piss millions away. You basically don't have that luxury with this squad. Still wouldn't fall as badly as us cos Ashley has his head screwed on in a business sense.

Other than that long covid gadgie there's an ever dwindling value to that squad. Still comfortable for top 6 in the championship but I'm not sure they'd cruise back up.

Aye but we aren’t small minded thinking we will only be the 7th or 8th biggest club down there we know we would be the biggest club in the champo by a mile and we won’t have jason steele hampering us like he did to you lot

fair point but I think we would get:

10 for Dubravka?
6 Darlow?
20 ASM?
15 Wilson?

thats over 50m again and we would have enough left to win the champo. The likes of lascelles and Shelvey bossed it before and would again and Fraser and Almiron would too as good championship players are there level. Same for Hayden, Clark, Murphy. Just a really good championship squad basically once them 4 I mentioned are sold

Last time they went down they had highly saleable assets (Winegum, Sisserker, Townsend) that effectively bankrolled their promotion back to the PL

This time. How many could they sell for a decent wedge? WIlson? Saint Maximum? Lascalles?

You might make your money back on Wilson, but that's about it

The same Wilson who signed a 4 year deal and has his 29th birthday next month. There were hardly a queue of clubs wanting to sign him last time. Parallels with our side that went down - piss poor.

In 09 when we went down we kept a strong squad of good experienced players. A few left who didn't want to be there. But the rest all had the personality and attitude to get us back up.
In 2016, we had a good manager and sellable players to reinvest into building a squad to achieve promotion.

We have neither of those this time. We wouldn't come back if we went down, which is why it's important to sack Bruce before it's too late

Tbf, Dubravka hasn't played this season because he was injured and only featured for the first time in the fa cup 3rd round after returning to the bench the game before. Darlow hasn't made too many errors since then to justify dropping him
