If it wasn't for some unbelievable luck earlier on in the season Newcastle would already be well adrift at the bottom.
They're the worst team in the league and in freefall. Fulham, Brighton and Burnley are much better teams. Even WBA look better than them at the moment. They haven't even got their secret weapon of a pitch invasion to help them out.

They have beaten Everton and Southampton in the last 4 games hardly free fall and West Bromwich and Sheffield United are comfortably worse

I was looking at their record over the last 10 /12 games and it is relegation form, they only just hung on against Southampton.
I agree WBA and Sheff Utd look doomed.

West Brom are absolutely shite man. They last won over a month ago. The mags have beaten 2 teams well above them since then. Brighton are dreadful too, they barely score any goals and struggle to beat teams.

WBA have picked up two draws against Burnley away and Utd at Home.Brighton have played well this season and look more of a team than Newcastle. They won at St.James's 3-0, means nowt now ofcourse, but they have won 3 drawn 3 lost 0 of their last six league games !! Where have you been ? :p Beating Liverpool away, Spurs at home and Leeds away without conceding. I bet they would choose Newcastle at home as their next game if they had a choice. Its all about current form. Brighton and Fulham are more capable of getting results than the Mags at the moment. As for WBA, yeh they struggle, but Id back them to not lose at home to Newcastle.

People are getting way ahead of themselves. The mags always do this, flirt with relegation and end up comfortable because other teams are shitter. They'll get results against Wolves, West Brom and Brighton coming up and be safe despite being shite.
Brighton already beaten them 3-0 this season

The last couple of times the Mags have been relegated they’ve had far more enjoyable seasons and come up in much better shape. Isn’t there also an increased chance of the Saudis taking them over if they drop as they wouldn’t require Premier League approval so the Bein sports impasse wouldn’t be an issue?

I think I’d rather they remained in the purgatory of lower reaches of the Prem, hovering above the sink hole but never dropping. That’s a miserable place (as the Prem is for the majority of clubs that just make up the numbers in my opinion).

Pity fans won’t be allowed in

if Fulham do the incredible & relegate them

London would have seen the biggest riots since the poll tax riots

while meanwhile back in sunderland biggest party ever

after winning promotion & the pizza cup 😎

My common sense head is telling me this. When they go down they always dick the league.

I'm starting to believe we have a chance of going up this season. If we do, it's likely to be a struggle to begin with as we stink of League 1. Do we want the added pressure of those bellends lording it up?

But I would love it, I say I would love it, if they went down.

imagine we gan up & poocastle relegated we’d never be off Sky

but they’d still be sky hoop lickers

it's february. There's still about a million games to go. Not even worth considering until the beginning of April.

Errrr, there's actually ONLY 14 to go.

Wilson will miss 5 of them as will Schar, their best striker and defender.

Those 5 are Man U a, Wolves h, Wba a, Villa h and Brighton a.
Without those 2 and may be others, there is an outside chance they won't win any.
Man Utd are in good form, Wolves are running back in to form, Wba are still battling under big Sam and have made decent window signings, Villa look potent and Brighton are a more than capable side who would be much higher if they had a good finisher.

The international break then comes late March, and they resume in April at home to Spurs h. If the proper Spurs turn up it's no points for the skunks.
Burnley a follows - always a tight tough one that, followed by resurgent West ham h, Liverpool a, Arsenal h, Leicester a, Man City a Sheff Utd h and then what might be the big one, Fulham away.

I'd be very very concerned if I was a skunk.
Takeover would 100% go through if they are relegated. Perhaps that is their plan.

Why do you and every one assume that it will be great news for them ?
They are like King Midas in reverse.
They couldn't win jack shit with the massive advantages they had from 93 to 08 with the Hall/Shepherd millions.
So many clubs now have hugely rich owners and can rival them no problem which wasn't the case early to mid 90s.
They may even come to the seeing Ashley go.
