NUFC/Sportwashing

I wonder how aggressively pro the Saudi regime chants will appear on tv on Sunday... and how extreme will the scum fans be of their approval. The world will be watching this, and the media. Will Keane, Souness or Jones call them out for what they are etc?

And how long will all of this go on for?

Surely we cannot allow it to die out after a few months. The pressure must continue forevermore.

I actually feel sorry for decent Newcastle fans who hate what is happening.
I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I’d rather SAFC forever languished in the lower leagues than have our club tainted by that disgusting regime.
Saudi Arabia has the death penalty for, amongst other things, apostasy, homosexuality and witchcraft. This is the tip of the iceberg. I’ve no doubt some right-on moron will come out with the ‘they don’t know any better’ bollocks, (or ‘we were no better 600 years ago’), but that utterly patronising apologist stance couldn’t be further from the truth. At least some of the Royals are university educated, some in the U.K., I believe.

They‘re just evil, bloodthirsty, power hungry bigots who use religion as a weapon to brutally oppress the population. The sooner the regime are overthrown and punished for their crimes, the better. This takeover will haunt Newcastle United forever, but hey, as long as they win something…

Brutal. But correct

You wasted your time writing that all out because that wasn't at all what I was trying to do. I've explained it multiple times.

Is someone instantly an evil person because of their connections, was what I was querying. If that's the case, surely KLDs mam is also proper evil. That was all I was saying.

I was not trying to link Sunderland to Abu Dhabi in anyway.

The only evil party in this is KSA. Everyone else falls into the category of useful idiot, each (Ashley, Staveley, Reubens and the fans) motivated by greed of one kind or another, and all serving the desired purpose of applying industrial levels of Daz to KSA's reputation. In other words, sportswashing. Not evil, just gullible.

She doesn't represent the whole Labour Party I assume?
All NUFC fans are being assumed to support this and all being labelled as vermin.
Well I’ve not heard of 1 who does not support it?
Is that you outing yourself as an anti takeover, non gay stoning, equal rights & human rights supporter?
I hope the Spurs fans have their Israel flags out in full on Sunday.

I think we can also add Boris Johnson and various local MPs onto the useful idiot list.

The real thoughts of a whataboutery.

"Our owner is a right horrible bastard, disgrace what's happening to innocent men, women and children over there and f***ing disgusting what happened to that khashoggi fella. He must have been petrified when they grabbed him to torture him. His widow must have been in a right state when he didnt come out of the embassy.

Supporting the club is a right headache, one hand we've got serious investment but on the other it's from that barbaric, west hating regime. Bloody wish it had been a mega rich owner other than that oily faced kernt

But think I will just create a few whatabouterys instead cos it will deflect. God we gonna be hated."

I'd agree.

None of them own NUFC, the Saudi state does.

The money came from his father Robert. He was a billionaire. He died in 2009.

There's a big difference from selling something to a person and working for them. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus has benefited from selling 45% of a business to the UAE. And yes they have a horrible human rights record.

Staveley is working for a tyrant directly. She is happy to own NUFC and let herself be used as propaganda tool for a dictator. This isn't an investment it's sportswashing.

We all do deals with the devil. But not everyone sells their soul to him.

Staveley just seems to like the adulation spending someone elses money brings. I don't really think she cares who's it is tbh.
