Nee mention of investment in the region either, that seems to have gone a bit quiet.

By investing in the region they mean Newcastle and possibly there will be job opportunities for those that live outside the City. We all know they won't be investing outside of Newcastle, why would they?

Haway Jean come over to the light side
Thanks for that. I am out the country at the moment and was getting the impression that no Mags were struggling with this horrendous new ownership. That is a great article and credit to her for being so honest. It's how I would feel. I hope it is a significant minority of Mags who are very uncomfortable with this as their club is sullied as no club has ever been. And that won't change.

Erm no, my Labour MP said it'll have an impact on South Shields...mind she also said we bury our dead in our back gardens as we can't afford funerals as well so....

Just one account buddy, you guys have been irrelevant for 4+ years hence the absence, I was just shocked at the number of the human rights activists on this board.

You've been absent as you've been irrelevant as we have only you've been stinking up the PL doing nowt and getting beaten most weeks. You were certainties to go down before the takeover and may still.

Counter argument to what? You didn't put anything on to argue with...buddy...
You claimed I had more than one account, you questioned my 4 year absence, I rebutted both of those claims, if there is nothing to 'argue with' then acknowledge that you were wrong instead of posting emojis.

Tears man absolute salty tears..

Surely you can do better than that?

You take the trouble to log on here to wind us up and come across like a teenager on Instagram. My 18 year old would blush with embarrassment using lines like that.

Seriously mate, raise your game.

Otherwise you're in danger of looking as stupid as the NUFC fans who invaded this board after your last takeover?
Boasting about your new billionaire owner who wanted to throw money at you to "have some fun and win trophies".

By the way?
How did that go?
They never came back to update us on the trophies you'd won after the massive spending spree Ashley was going to go on?

Alright, you might have just one account. The fact you came on after 4 years to gloat suggests you are a bit of a clown. That ok?
* And why after 4 years are we now relevant?

Yet another one who misses the point. You don't have to be a human rights activist to be appalled by this just an ordinary decent human being. Check any football message board of any team and you will find exactly the same sentiments as expressed on here. Contrary to your perception there are many, many decent people in this country - not so many supporting your team it would appear.

They were convinced they'd be signing players such as Ronaldinho. How much of the mags do PIF own? Is it on par with the stake Sheikh Mansour has in Man City or significantly less, if the latter, will they intend to invest as much money if the other stakeholders are not intending to invest the same? It seems
A completely different setup compared to Man City's.

If you call being one of the top ~12 clubs in the country over the past 4 years as being 'irrelevant' I'd like to know how you would describe Sunderland?

That's the bit of the fans' reaction to this that embarrasses me. Some of it is misguided excitement, some of it is ignorant, none of it palatable to me.

We can celebrate the club leaving Ashley consigned to the history books, we can celebrate what the money means for the club and what the stated ambitions are. But there's absolutely no need to lower ourselves to being complicit in Sportswashing.

In reality we should use the new found wealth and attention to have conversations about what's going on in Saudi Arabia, the Trust should encourage groups to have dialogue with the fans about their wholly legitimate concerns. The flag groups should make f***ing certain the rainbow flags are big, bold and front and centre. If Amnesty International wants to protest the owners outside the ground we should respect it, (but I'm certain a depressingly noticeable number will heckle them).

We've had no real say in who buys the club, but we have a say in how we behave from here on in.
Probably the best post from a mag on here. Completely agree. I don't expect you or any other mags to walk away from your club. Some will, but most wouldn't. I don't expect you not to be excited about the future from a footballing point of view. Most clubs exist by plodding along year to year, having the potential to legitimately challenge is always going to be exciting. That's all completely understandable. Enjoy it if it happens.

Just make sure that you're better than letting them do their sportswashing completely unopposed. As you say, have your pride flags flying, have your supporters groups speaking out against atrocities if and when they happen (because rightly or wrongly the club will get negative press when it happens). Be better than many other, less left leaning, fan bases would be. I'd also add challenging the Saudi bots. They've got fuck loads of them online and we've already seen homophobic comments being made in posts relating to NUFC. You're better than that, call the fuckers out, Newcastle isn't a place for homophobia or hatred. If the Saudis want to buy into your club they should constantly be aware of the fact that they're buying into you, not the other way round, you won't change or give them a platform and if they don't like it then they can fuck off. Do that and, much though I'll naturally not want you to win anything, I won't begrudge it half as much
