NUFC/Sportwashing

The Mags are only coming on here to try to hone some kind of argument for when they get back to the real world.

If they think they're getting abuse on here just wait until they have to go to away games.

And is it just me who's looking forward to Shearer squirming on MOTD. He's spent years pulling faces about Mike Ashley and how morally bankrupt he is. Now he'll have to find a way to worm his way out of this embarrassment.

My guess is that he'll go with,

'"I'm well aware of the issues, which need to be fully discussed, but a football show isn't the time or place'.

" No pie chart with evidence of flogging, imprisonment and murders Alan? "

" No Gary. "

" Thanks Alan, now let's turn our attention to Selhurst Park where those Ultras remind us all of that disgraced fascist, Paolo Di Canio. '

The funny thing is, if it was any other club in the country they'd be saying the same things. They know it. It's just a siege mentality they've got which leads them to tie themselves in knots to defend themselves having an owner who kills people he doesn't like with bonesaws. Throw in the prospect of a good few million to spend and it's like the Alamo.

Imagine if Spurs got taken over by the Saudis instead? They'd be protesting at parliament the lot.

Which basically equals, as long as they're spending money improving the team, I don't care.

No. It equates to, we have new owners and I will go with the flow as I always have.
If however they had no intention of investing any money and running you like Ashley, your opinion on the matter would be totally different and of course Human Rights would then come into the equation, it really is that simple.
Absolutely not.
If we got relegated to the non league under them I'd be gutted but my Newcastle United allegiance would never change.
If they destroyed the club I'd be devastated.
I'm not in control of anything that happens other than to decide for myself if I want to continue being a Newcastle fan and supporter and I choose to be a Newcastle fan and supporter no matter what. It's that simple.

I don't have to like what the regime stands for, I only have to like my football club and hope the players do the business.
As for Ashley, I backed him and still did up until this takeover. Why?
Because I understood his set up from the start to the finish. The good the bad and the ugly of his tenure.
Absolutely I did.

You can bleat on as much as you like about you not liking buying anything from these people but you do have a choice and you choose to go with it.
Newcastle fans aren't bleating on about murderous regimes and what not. The odd one's may just like anywhere you get the odd one's.
Most Newcastle fans are concentrating on the club, not on the owner.
And yes, fans will be happy. And yes, fans will be excited about a blank cheque type of set up.

And I'm not making any excuses for the owners. I'm arguing points with people like you who take the moral high ground when it suits.
The Saudis have do e their job on you, it's called being sportswashed.

We are the Saudis, the cock of the North
We chop up journos with bone saws of course
We never wear trousers we always wear gowns
The Saudi boys are in town.
How about a more local classic, sung by affable duo Ant & Decapitate: -

Ah me lads, you shudda see us smimmin’
All through the blood upon the road from gays, journos & women
There was lots of tools & weapons there, axes, swords & maces
Get yer tea towels on yer heeeeed… to see the blades-on-faces

Pointless arguing he knows they are horrible bastards but he loves to argue.

Hence all the flat earth bollocks will just repeat the same thing over and over.
Nukehasslefan is a flat earther? Explains a lot.
As fans we should be calling out journalists for double standards - his best will be feathered now so hopefully he won’t be back to report on SAFC.
I'd suggest most journalists wouldn't be allowed in, if that's your criteria for admission.

Now you may have a point here, as Spurs is naturally associated with the Jewish community within London, infact worldwide.

I'm guessing you are well versed in the Israeli/Saudi relationships? This is why you've mentioned Tottenham?

Then that is fine - the media are the main contributor to most of the shit going on in the world anyway (imo).

The whataboutery that has come with the sale has been wearying, too. It’s as pathetic as it is predictable. ‘What about the fact that the British government sells arms to the Saudis?’ That’s a particularly funny one because selling arms to the Saudis so they can bomb Yemen into the ground is a shameful part of British foreign policy and always has been. Selling arms to the Saudis is wrong. Selling Newcastle to the Saudis is wrong.

‘What about the fact we write messages on Twitter and order rides home on Uber and the Saudis have investments in them, too?’ That’s also funny. Insulting people on Twitter and climbing into the back seat of an Uber doesn’t do anything to cleanse the image of a repressive regime. Allowing them to buy one of our best-loved football clubs and use it as a vehicle for the most egregious example of sports- washing we have seen so far does exactly that.

From Holt of the daily mail.

When we're going to the daily mail for some moral compass, you know that your fans groups who welcomed this tyrant have fucked up. You lot are a disgrace.
#cans
To be fair that's one of the best pieces written on the saga.

I assume now that you know you will now give up on everything you can find that you use, related to their investment....right?
PIF own NUFC and make all the decisions. Their minority holdings in various companies are passive investments. They aren't involved in the corporate decision making.

Disney are a publicly listed company. You can go and buy shares in them now today if you wanted. If you did, it wouldn't mean that Disney would become a Flat Earth Society member. Nor should others be expected to hold Disney to account for your Flat Earther Views. 1 share or 3% of shares in Disney, in reality you have no say.

But MBS is the chief decision maker in the Saudi government and in PIF. The PIF board are all Saudi government officials. The papers to authorise the signing of Jesse Lingaard and bombing of Yemeni school buses sit on the same desk. The castration of gays and participation in the Rainbow laces campaign could be getting signed off at the same time. That's sportswashing. Newcastle are now a tool of a dictator; you haven't got your club back. It's gone.

Maybe you forgot the most part.

Most aye. I definitely didnt forget the most part.

I meant Newcastle fans would be protesting at Parliment  Maybe Spurs would too mind
