That’s a f***ing ridiculous argument, but in any case I’ll put a few quid into this, and will happily contribute to similar initiatives, as I’m sure will many others:


We might not be able to improve human rights for Saudis but we can show we remember Khashoggi and embarrass Newcastle's new owners by making sure others don't forget him too.

Every penny given will go to erecting a billboard or billboards near St James Park stadium in Newcastle. Any additional funds, or if we fall short of the cost of a billboard, will be sent to Amnesty international. There will be no admin costs.

Firstly, didn't expect it to happen. 4 years worth of dithering around was enough for anyone to be cautious.

Secondly, I still don't expect us to spend heavily. It's an investment fund. Whatever they invest, they will be looking to recoup. I don't envisage it being a toy they spend a vast amount on.

Thirdly, my views on these things literally never changed so don't see how it can be viewed as an act.

I actually think they 100% would. If we had been taken over by wealthy Russians I imagine some nobheads would turn out dressed as Cossack dancers.
