Not concerned.

At best they will just become another Everton or Wolves. Spend a shed load of money to finish 7th and have a failed Europa campaign. The wealth of the owners isn't entirely relevant with all the FFP restrictions etc - they're not going to be the next Man City.
Exactly how I see it, you can only put a certain amount in now, however I do feel the Saudis will ignore sine of the rules everton, villa and wolves have adhered to. Apparently Evertons owner is wanting to spend another 200 million , same as Villa. Progression is a lot slower now.
I can't see big foreign players wanting to live in the north east, back in the 90s it was mainly English with a sprinkling of foreign talent, the foreign talent they had didn't really stick around for more than 3 seasons.

What league one and record low points twice bad? Play off final defeats etc? They’ve played in Europe and the champions league and swept the championship away like it was shit on their shoe.

given the investment, league standing, and that it appeared the club had a good structure - and at a time when the Premier League really started to become stratospheric - I would class them as under-achievers rather than being lucky.

You said they had some very very good players. But they never really came close to winning anything of note.

The majority of Sunderland fans have laughed at them, rather than resented their 'achievements.'
