“ The Premier League has now been provided with written assurances that the Saudi state will not interfere with the running of the club and that only the PIF will be involved in Newcastle operations along with minority shareholders. Any breach of that undertaking could lead to directors being suspended.”

That doesn’t sound to me like much has been resolved at all.

I’m sure they were provided with ‘assurances’ last time round but the premier league disputed it, so they walked away.

Anyway, we wait and see. This turning into another farce wouldn’t surprise me though.

Theyre probably going to challenge after 3 years or so and probably will for a long time after that.

It is what it is. We need to get back to the Pl asap

I'm assuming the mags claiming this is "for the region" will have no problem in Sunderland receiving these benefits. After all, we are in the region right?

So if the test is 'suspended' then nothing happens I assume. Can't force them to sell up.

I am so pleased for the fantastic fans. No more worrying about Ashley or Bruce. The ground will be rebuilt in Saudi Arabia and the metro will open a station there. The fans will get the team they want and we will all miss the complaining, the bedsheets, Wraith, etc.

It was Bein who stopped it, if they are now okay I doubt the Premier League will give a shiny shit about the human rights record.

Absolutely. But this will only accelerate losing kids support in the region.
If the mags takeover is as people claim, making them title challengers with top players, then it doesn't really make a difference what division we are in.

If we end up in the PL making up the numbers as a bog standard mid table club for example, that's hardly going to draw kids support over Mbappe etc.

MBappe and Haaland already signed up for January. Messi and Ronaldo to put transfer requests in also.

Paul Dummett is said to be delighted, Joe Linton worried about losing his place.

Agree those that say it won’t affect us are in denial. Has plenty of ramifications for us and our area. Who are kids from Durham, Washington etc going to want to see play?
1) it's not done.
2) there is no evidence even if it happens that they will spend.
3) if it happens to us, it could easily happen to you/anyone
4) it is not done.
5) we have been here many times before.

Fuck em

they’re still mags

utter idiots

it’ll have a big impact on Sunderland and the area if they do well

there’s no denying that at al

this already happened

I was the only Sunderland fan in my class in primary school in Chester le street

that was because they all followed Keegan
All the mags kicking off for last few years. Wouldnt last 5 minutes supporting sunderland
