Have a word. You have not won anything yet and very possibly you may never win anything. You may even get relegated this season but that does not seem to bother your lot, now the lovely Saudis will buy a world class football team. Really think it'll be Gerrard tbh. They'd want a big name, he ticks that box (albeit mainly as a player). He's had success as a manager, albeit in Scotland but still did well to dethrone celtic. Normally I'd expect him to stay at Rangers, but this season isn't going as well for him. He might think that he can leave before it goes wrong with a reputation massively enhanced and move to a job where he'll hope to be well backed in the top flight. Don't think they'll get a huge managerial name at this stage (as seen by Conte supposedly not being interested) but doubt they'd want a name as underwhelming as Potter. Time will tell I guess but it would make sense for all parties as far as I can see

If you lot had the seasons, players and profile we had in the 90s and 00s and grew up supporting sunderland then in the champions league and breaking world transfer records do you not think you lot would have different attitudes and a superiority complex and want to at least try to get back to that level?
You have only really known 3 top half finishes since the 50s. We are bound to have different mentalities as a fanbase with what we grew up with compared to you.

Potter seems a very decent chap who is doing a great job at Brighton. Gerrard has very strong Liverpool and l would guess socialist roots and has always come across as a sensible decent bloke too.
Why would either of them sell their morals for a few £££. We know some would but these two don’t seem the type. Maybe they might get the fat Spanish waiter back - after all he pissed off to China for a big bag of 💰- but even for him it might be a bridge too far.

As much as I'd like to agree with you the mags aren't gonna be outspending Chelsea, Man city, Man Utd or Liverpool. So in that respect they'll have earned any trophy as much as the ones I mentioned.
Personally I don't think they'll win owt, although they won't be relegated either for the foreseeable.
