This won't go down well at all although it's spot on.

It doesn’t make what’s going on at Newcastle any less objectively vile. The bloke’s still a known murderer, and the planet’s foremost funder of extremist Islamic terrorism. He’s still been permitted to purchase a U.K. city’s most important cultural institution, despite the aforementioned “character flaws”.

It’s just to explain why I think thousands of perfectly good and decent people, are performing incredible mental gymnastics to rationalise all of this; and allow themselves to turn a blind eye; and why I think it would be the same had the Saudi finger landed on any other random location on the football map.

I think it was Steven Weinberg who said (to paraphrase), “Good people will do the best they can. Evil people will do the worst they can. But if you want to make good people do evil things, you’ll need religion”. The scenes of the past few days - not to mention the (very grim) replies from Newcastle fans on social media to the fiancé of Jamal Kharshoggi and to Amnesty International - are clear evidence that football is, indeed, a “religion” to many people.

That's utterly mad 🤣 you are talking about how abhorrent these acts are (which they are) but yet it's Newcastle's fans responsibility? Surely as a collective voice it's said louder - one fanbase alone would make no difference. You just can't be arsed.

So you only care about these atrocities when it suits. At least you admit it.
I’d be horrified if a regime like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, North Korea or Islamic State bought SAFC. I don’t know how clear that needs to be made

However, if my inbred rivals suffered the same plight and actually danced around with tea towels on their head as it happened… turns out I can see the funny side 😄

So why aren't you horrified now. Why does it matter that it's a different club? The crimes are the same - why aren't you moved enough to act?

Imagine trying to defend the fact that your club is owned by someone who ordered the murder of journalist (and doubtless many others), orders airstrikes on kids in Yemen and funds the spread of terrorism throughout the world

I'd honestly be gutted if a regime like Saudi Arabia, China etc owned SAFC.

He's an embarrassment and shouldn't even be on here.

Look man you cloth heeded gonk. the murderous bastards have bought your club so like it or not it's Newcastle fans who will be viewed on how much they really give a fuck about it all.

There's no point coming on here saying well I'm very unhappy about it but I'll still be going to support the club which means you'll be ultimately supporting the murderous bastards. You couldn't give a fuck if they dismember innocent people or not as long as they spend billions

so when you win the champions league it's everyone's trophy and we'll all be celebrating?
ps, you won't by the way. this has tarnished your club and it's fans forever. don't think that any decent football/sport fan will have any sympathy whatsoever when it all comes crashing down.
This isn't about the football on the pitch, it's about objecting to ownership by a horrific state. Sunderland fans only seem to object if it was them but couldn't give a shit if it was anyone else.
Have you had any sleep since the takeover? Might be time to get to bed
Why can't you respond to the actual points?
