So they’ll line up next week with Almiron, Wilson, Saint Maximin, and Willock as a front 4. £80 million

Then £40m Joelinton on the bench.

Shame a load of the helmets will miss it because they’re outside trying to block the roads, rather than simply buying a ticket and going into the stadium.

They are a bunch of absolute knackers

Surprised he’s settling for them but they’ve now spunked any transfer budget they have just to be as crap as they were last season… also now has no incentive to try that hard either

When it comes to fees paid for players, Newcastle are in the bottom six, according to figures compiled by Maguire. Ashley has spent £216 million on this squad — almost a fifth of which went on the £40 million acquisition of — and that is lower than the value of the and Bournemouth squads relegated in the summer of 2020.

“For Newcastle to have a lower spend than Watford and Bournemouth is ridiculous,” says Maguire. “As a neutral, I’d expect Newcastle to spend a similar amount to West Ham, Everton and Leicester. But they’re nowhere near them. It is just indicative of what Ashley does. He really only spends a significant amount one in every three years and, unfortunately, this is not one of those years.”

From the same guy:

Everton, Palace, and Southampton all cutting back this year as well. You’ve apparently just spent £25m.

You’re about where you should be in terms of wages. Stop f***ing whinging, it’s pathetic.

That's a class signing for them and 25 mil is cheap nowadays. But but Ashley is the worst owner in football and has "killed the club". f***ing morons.

Borini, Merino. Players that were class on loan to NE clubs only to be garbage when they were made permanent.
Players at bigger clubs view us as stepping stones. Look good on loan then get back in the first team plans at the parent club.
Let's see if Willock is as good when he's not trying to impress Arteta

Merino wasn't garbage at all. He just didn't like living in England and then a chance for him to return home to Spain (having been away for so long) arrived and he wanted to take it.

He was certainly not garbage and I was gutted he left.
