I had to google "zulte waregem" - would love a European game in Belgium..or anywhere for that matter but Belgium in particular due to loving Belgian Beer.

Best in the world no doubt. I try to get to Belgium at least once every couple of years for that purpose alone. When we got Bruges in UEFA cup under Pardew I was absolutely buzzing.
 
What the fuck do they actually want the Govt to do? They’ve already said it’s a matter for the PL

Surely the way to get the takeover through is for the Saudis to denounce piracy and agree to work with the authorities to stop it?
 
The government always just tell the plebs what they need to know. Always been the case.

I would be amazed if they had not behind the scenes warned the premier league of accepting such offer for numerous reasons. That is not in defence of gravy swillers but more to state this will not happen.

They and the USA fanny about with Saudi and many other ME countries because of oil and arms .

This day and age Amnesty International have far too much pull for this to be near accepted.

Why?

The Saudis withdrew their offer and walked away. There is no "takeover".

If they'd been "top 6" they'd have had a few thousand there.

If they'd been a lower league club close to extinction they'd have had better numbers.
Premier League should ask Staveley et Al, to be transparent on their plans for investment in Stanley, Spennymoor, Chester le Street and Peterlee..... because I haven't seen any facts or figures so far

I blame the chronicle for always telling them how massive they are, repeat something often enough and simple people start to believe it.

The reality is that to everyone outside of the Chronicles distribution region, they’re just another Wolves, Burnley, Leeds, etc…, a reasonable Premier club that you’d expect to finish mid to bottom half of the table. Their brief flirtation in the top 6 over 25 years ago has seriously affected them and they struggle to understand that this was simply them punching above their weight.

It’ll all end in tears once reality sets in.

Social Media mate. If they wasn't a camera there they wouldn't be a single person in sight.
They see the likes of the Arsenal TV lads or True Geordie and think that they can get a piece of it. Trying to use "their" clubs to be famous.
Putting yourself at the vanguard of a football club with hundreds of thousands of fans is pretty f***ing egocentric. Nothing but self-service by most of these

I don't want to be unkind to those (40 odd) who went to Parliament Square but for many NUFC will be there entire life. They are blind to all rhyme and reason. Sometimes I engage with them on Twitter and tell them that buying 0.7% of Disney is not comparable to buying 80% of NUFC but obviously get told to f**k off. Due to my job I am knowledgeable of Sovereign Wealth Funds, so the name PIF wasn't a new one for me last year. I believe AS has told them they are cheap and with a small investment they could turn a profit. This fits in with their investment style, throwing billions at it doesn't.
