This is what I was going to say. Notwithstanding the Brentford game, what more do they really, and I mean realistically want? Overall he has got better results and plays better football than their beloved Rafa. They have two of their best players out to long-term Covid. Do they really think someone could come in, go all gung-ho and really improve results?

Bruce is a massive weapon and somewhat of a fraud, he however is doing very comparable with GOD himself Benitez, anybody looking from the outside in would almost thing they had found the correct level for the players they have.

Quality goalkeeper, Ogbonna has been a monster this season at the back. Creativity in Bowen, Benhrama, Fornals, Lanzini and Yarmolenko, Antonio is a menace upfront, Soucek and Coufal look like quality signings. Then Rice in midfield, its pretty decent despite how much i hate them.

Exactly. Ashley is missing a trick here. All he has to do is appoint a big name manager and the results don't matter too much. They'd be perfectly content if they had Rafa now and were in the same position.

Benitez got them relegated remember. Steve Bruce has never done that. He's got a better cup record too. Additionally, Benitez failed to beat their local rivals at home
