They’ve strengthed, whether or not it will be enough no one has any idea. I don’t think they score enough goals but they’ve tightened the defence. It’ll go down to the last two or three games of the season.

Theres not really that many bad teams in the league anymore so itll be how they do around teams around them.
Have they tightened the defence? They've bought an attacking right back and 2 left backs with the intention of playing one off them centre half. As plans go it's pretty poor.

I genuinely hope they go down. Purely & simply because this Tweet sums them up perfectly. Wankers

Doesn’t seem a huge improvement on the last regime to me.

Ashley would have appointed a more experienced manager than Howe, and is unlikely to have ended up in a position where he needed to spend like a drunken sailor in January anyway. He could have got Howe himself last year, but ignored the mags clamouring for him, and stuck with Bruce, staying up easily by 17 points in the end. That won’t happen this year.

Contrary to what they’re saying, the Brazilian lad is a signing that they could have made under Ashley. Picking up young players with a handful of international caps from the French league was the MO for years until Rafa arrived.

A full back in on loan is a deal Ashley would have done as well.

He might have looked at Dan Burn, but would have laughed at spending more than £4m on him, and would have got an equivalent player from elsewhere.

He absolutely would not have been stupid enough to spend £25m on Chris Wood. He’s more likely to have signed the superior player Burnley got for half the price.

I’ll admit Trippier is a signing he wouldn’t have made. But he also wouldn’t have got a director of football in to oversee the whole thing, and then mysteriously fucked him off after 7 days just before the window opened, meaning he had to scratch around making the signings himself.

So what is it like supporting the richest club in the world? Looks like fighting a relegation battle without anyone who can score goals to me. Is that supposed to be better than it was before? Genuinely can’t tell myself, doesn’t really look like it to me.

Yer divnt understand man, wer got wor klerb back.

He is a centre half and will play centre half, absolutely guaranteed.

Brighton finally signed a proper left back this season in Cucurella which has made Burn go back to his proper position.
I would imagine WeareBrighton might know better than me or you.

I'm really not sure what your point is, He has played at left back, and now plays in his natural position at centre half. Newcastle have not signed him to play left back, I can absolutely guarantee that.

The opening line states :-

Centre back. Left back. Left wing back. 6’7 Princess Diana look-a-like. However you viewed Dan Burn, it is sad day for Albion fans as one of the most likeable members of this Brighton squad secures a dream move to boyhood club Newcastle United for a fee of £13 million.

and at the end states :-

Burn has found himself deployed as a centre back again – where he has been utterly brilliant.

Matt Targett will be left back, with Burn centre half, or do you think they've signed them both to compete for a left back spot (meaning leaving one of them out) when they have glaring problems, literally, at centre half?

The bottom line is he isn't and has never been first choice centre half for an average Brighton side. If I was spunking £13 million I would want a first choice and a leader not a follower. Utility players only have that role because they aren't good enough to nail down a regular spot. I reckon he's worth no more than £8M and an average signing at best.

Burn has been a good player in a good side for a number of seasons, he has been very good this season, at centre half. It is not bad business at all for 13 million as he improves what they already have and can cover a few positions.

One presumes Nat Phillips?

He’s absolutely bang average at very best let’s see how he gets on at Murder Ordering Utd

Hopefully he’s a Ashley Williams type plodder signing

Have a canny bloated squad now, a few wont even make the 25 man registration squad. Lewis and Clark refusing to go out on loan must have been a pisser for them. Shame.
