Didn't expect anymore from you man....

Could have signed Mane and Salah and you would have said they were shit....you're predictable as fuck....

Despite what some say on here, I think on paper you've done decent business. Wood is an outlier who you signficantly overpaid for, the rest have seemingly been secured for decent fees though and if Targett and Burn come in, that's a good amount of proven PL experience that's been added.

I do think it's been scattergun, but a good manager would see you safe with that squad. Big test for Howe. If you had a Nuno or even a Hodgson, I'd say survival would be nailed on. I imagine the Eddie love-in could quite quickly go sour if progress isn't instant. He's the weak link now IMO.

Mags have spent a few quid but I'm not convinced that players they've signed were the players they needed. Unless they pull a few last minute shock signings off

Is FFP history now?
the money they spend will not all come off at once i think? its spread over payments so they probably have not even scratched the surface, the players they have signed though are not what i think they were expecting, wood, burn, some young french kid who i would guess wont be ready for the premier league, i was expecting alot more from them to be honest

Obviously I’m biased but if this is true they haven’t got a lot for their money and it’s underwhelming. Surprised Newcastle fans are so happy, £120m spent for not a lot really.

could not agree more, taggert and burn are lower club premiership defenders, they all ready have that, I do think they will slightly improve them but not a great deal, i would still be very worried if we were in there position of trying to stay up and these were the players signed, they may well improve them loads and they may well stay up but looking from the outside i still think they are in deep dog dirt.

When you look at them individually they've all got question marks over them.

This could all backfire spectacularly.

Trippier - one of the better right backs in the league.

Wood - an average PL centre forward.

Brazilian Kid - No idea. Highly rated but it's somewhat of a gamble.

Burn - Steady but not the centre half they wanted after they made big bids for the foreign lads.

Targett - Solid enough PL left back.

French Kid - 19yo, not a chance he hits the ground running in my opinion.

FWIW I think if they'd got one of Botman/Carlos plus Lingard, they'd have been in a very good position. As it is, they've got work to do to stay up.
