Now or never - Time to protest

Sick of these little digs against fellow fans. It’s petty
Don't be soft man.... It was a genuine question to gauge what levels of mediocrity he's seen over the years.
Plenty of money has been invested since KLD came in, it's obvious he is running the club
It was said we'd spent 500k on the pitch pre season, and that turned out to be completely untrue. Just one example of doing things on the cheap still.

Over the past week the levels of in fighting has gone through the roof online.

But fair do’s you weren’t trying to have a go

totally agree with this. it needs to be a simple, short, sharp message telling what the protest is about

it can't simply be 'we're unhappy at being in league one for 5 seasons' or 'we want better football' or 'we want the owners to spend more money' ... its too wishy washy

it could be 'MADROX OUT' - but as has been said, without someone wanting to buy their shares, it doesn't matter if we want them to sell or even if they are willing to sell, they don't have to do anything on the back of being demanded to sell their shares

something along the lines of 'OUR CLUB' to remind them of what they are custodians of, but it doesn't really demand anything.

i'm angry about the whole thing but i'm not really sure what i want them to do, other than fuck off
So, madrox out then?

Absolute fantasy to suggest people wouldn't be interested. Debt free football club going cheap for what it is, KLD might even buy the rest. The only obstacle will be their price like it has been for 4 years.

You have no idea what we have or haven't spent

no doubt they'll want a fortune for their shares, and probably part of the deal will be that they keep 2 or 3 % each

if they were half the blokes they think they are, they'd hold their hands up, admit they failed, take a massive loss on their investment, sell to a competent person, leave sunderland and never return

the problem this they want to do a shit job, achieve terrible results, but at the same time be paid a fortune and be praised

like i've said a million time, they are both thick as fuck

Well unless you work for the club, then you have no idea what we have spent. They might of spent money on the pitch in the summer, if they did they want to ask for a refund
They never spent a penny on the pitch, just look at the state of it and we haven’t even had a bad winter.

Some people will defend the club at any cost even when they can see it with their own eyes.

I'm not defending the club, you need to read properly. I said you have no idea if they spent money on it or not.

No, they didn’t spend money on it. Just look at the state of it man ffs
That doesn't mean they haven't spent money on it. I remember a team years ago had it totally relayed at the end of a season then a few games into new season it was a mess. Not that I'm saying we have had it relayed as I have no idea if they spent anything on it or not

A few of us have decided we’re just not going at all and will be out on the hot instead.

The empty seats will lead to questions from sponsors and the fall in food and drink sales will hammer their income.

They’ll sharp start to take notice of us then.

So you'll make up an imaginary thing to justify your point? They may have renovated the toilets too, I don't know if they have but they might have.

Well done Madrox, all is forgiven...

I am not sure to laugh at this or not.
Do what you want it really has no bearing on my life! There is nothing in this thread that defends anyone other than stating it's obvious from changes at the club that KLD is running the club. If people want to protest about the others that's upto them. Not really sure what you are on about

To summarise -

Support the lads as normal during the match.
Don’t spend a penny at any club outlets.
Protest at main entrance at FT.
I disagree.

Obviously, support the team. I’ve no issue with that, though collectively and individually, they are awful and we’re heading for another year in this league but when you have the owners we do, spewing lies about “processes”, you’ll be shopping in the yellow sticker aisle, like we are.

I’m not sure on the outlets one. The outlets are typically outsourced anyway (how much do the club actually make?). The people working behind the ramps at the ground aren’t to blame either. They’re often young kids trying to earn a bit of money in their first job or to support them through education and they’re locals and any kiosks that get closed or people laid off are local people that are losing their jobs and in this climate, it’s not easy for anyone.

After the match protests are a bit lame, aren’t they? Reminds me of that fella calling Coleman a Knobhead on Netflix, it was a bit embarrassing and just a bit daft. After the match, I want to get to a pub or get some food and I think many will be similar anyway. As for standing around post match, it’s not exactly going to whip up the interest we would like. Look at clubs like Blackpool, Blackburn, Birmingham, Charlton, Leyton Orient etc and their protests. They’ve all been fairly “creative” with their protests and it’s generated a bit of news and social media interest when games are stopped for tennis balls being thrown on the pitch or pitch invasions preventing games from ending. A couple of hundred people stood outside the ground at 5.15 on a Saturday is the definition of “mag-like”, as they used to do stood outside of Sports Direct on a Saturday while old women did their shopping.

Protests need planning behind them and co-operation from different parties, including the police. I watched Charlton a few times (my Dad’s mate is a STH) when they were protesting about the Belgian fella that owned them and their protests were co-ordinated with the police as I remember police officers coming into the pub and reminding people that they have the right to protest and the balls being thrown on the pitch was fine but anti-social behaviour and any other objects thrown would be treated differently.
