301 for 7 at stumps giving a lead of 341. Surely they'll declare overnight.

We've knocked up 270 today in overcast conditions, the pitch has improved a lot

I knar I'm being pedantic because we're in a great position but the last hour was frustrating. Scoring at snails pace with two batsmen well set. Seems like a waste, we could EASILY have made a further 20 runs in that final session and we could easily have had a lead of 360-370 which to me would have been more than enough to leave them on the final day.

96 overs to bowl at them and attack them. 3 full sessions. Now they'll only have maybe 80 overs? Which will be difficult to try and shift the likes of Hales, Wessels, Voges, Read, Lumb, etc. Only 1 ball too. With 96 overs we'd get a new ball.

Edit - The BBC really are a set of f***ing , the main paragraph in their match report talks of a Notts win.

Nottinghamshire now have to quickly take the final three Durham wickets on the final morning if they are to stand any chance of knocking off the runs and maintaining the pressure on Championship leaders Warwickshire.

They might do but it looks like none of our relegation rivals are heading for a win so even if we lose going for it we won't lose much ground. Our bowling attack is surely too good to allow Notts to score 342 before we take 10 wickets.

Wall to wall sunshine tomorrow Bri, you cannot be sure in those conditions

Best not to have to worry about it going to the boundary a few times

This, why not just chuck the bat at it T20 for the last half hour or so.
 
Bat 4 overs and try and get 20 - 25 runs leaves us 90 overs with a new ball for the last ten overs if required. A draw is no good to Notts so there is a fair chance they will attack any score Durham leave.
 
we defintly need to leave enough to have a decent fo with the new ball. should have just slashed at it yesterday and declared overnight
