Have a think about this.
If Newcastle United can be regenerated, including the city then Sunderland being a close neighbour in the north east could also benefit massively from the knock on effect.
The north east big two could become a force to be reckoned with. A revitalised hotbed of football.
The potential is there.
I agree.I genuinely think both clubs doing well "pushes" the other.
There would have been even more pressure in Ashley/Bruce if Sunderland were out spending Newcastle/finishing above them in the Premier League these last 3-4 seasons.
I also think Newcastle being too half/having cup runs would have put more pressure on Sunderland in that same time frame.
My suggestion is that perhaps this will not be the wealthy deal the Mags are expecting.Excuse my ignorance but what are you suggesting? I understand what you mean that the Saudis can afford 100% but what is suspicious about the 20%
If they bring another overated name in like Benitez though relegation chances could be even worse under a big name manager.Good luck to them I say. No matter what people say they are a good working class fan base same as us. But because they've tasted CL footy in the past they think they have a right to it. However many will be pushed out of it financially and that's the price they will pay for some success.
There's no guarantees of success in the PL no matter how much you spend.
It will take a good few years to get near the top 4. That's even if they stay up this season. To do that they need to replace the chancer Bruce immediately.
Class, spot on mateFor anyone who is upset over them lot up the road becoming the richest club in the world, it's fine. Vent your frustration and call them mags out for all their hypocrisies and general twatishness if you will.
However tomorrow is a new day, and it will be a day where Kyril Louis-Dreyfus will still be our owner. A young 24 year old who, as our owner for 6 months, has turned the club from its depths and actually gave us a sense of hope again.
Them lot up the road will have murderers and women enslaving scum as theirs. We will still be the better club to support and we will still hold the moral high ground over them.
Yes they may win a PL title before us and yes they may see some world class players join their ranks over time, but our ascent to the top will be done with passion and endeavour, rather than blood money.
And when we do reach the top and eventually challenge for that league title in God knows how many years time, it will taste so much sweeter knowing that we have stuck to our morals and can be proud of everything about our club.
STID!
