Not Roy Keane

Sorry that’s not clear to me. Is it correct they made an offer and he turned it down?

He wanted the job. Everyone is aware of that.

If they chose to make an “offer” that couldn’t get the job done, then the buck stops with the club. The opportunity will probably not present itself again.

Employ clowns, get a circus.

I think your right. People talk about Johnson having an ego.... Keano is off the scale. We have chase him, lauded him, rolled out the red carpet for the guy who would manage us in non league by all accounts.
Iam sure he understands that non league football comes with constraints, so does First Division, it’s all relevant. Paying big names big money for little return pretty much bankrupt us before and that was with EPL and Shorts money.
We have chased him- No we didn't. He let it be known he was interested

Lauded him- How?

.Red Carpet- Where and when?

Big names, big money for no return?- Do you have the memory of a goldfish? He took us from the arsehole of the championship, to Premier League in about half a season and kept us there.

If you're happy he's not here then fine, but don't create a world of fantasy to make you're stance justifiable

You don’t know what’s in the offer though do you?
He’s had two weeks to ask non negotiable questions, when it came to the crunch he walked away, can only be terms IMO but may be to do with his team and increments once promoted etc. Pure conjecture, but when a man says he would manage us in non league you have to either get on with it or turn away, the delay whilst courting him has cost us a lot.

I know it didn’t get the job done. That’s all that counts. Back to the drawing board with Spreadsheet Kristjaan and his youth team experience.

Does he strike you as the kind of bloke that attends interviews for a job he’s not interested in? Did it look to you on Friday night, on live TV, that he wasn’t interested?
We don’t know what obstacles were in the way of him taking the job or who is to blame definitively though.

There’s only two parties to the negotiation. He clearly wanted the job, otherwise he wouldn’t have turned up to interview for it.

That only leaves the other party to get its act together and do it’s part. Which it plainly didn’t do, or we wouldn’t be where we are.

We don't know what the obstacles were, but we know there must be one or two, that the club clearly were'nt prepared to overcome, to get the best candidate for the job.

We don’t know what Keane’s terms were though. There’s a world away from turning up for an interview and having realistic demands. We don’t know if he was flexible or not.

We as fans did

Track record ...not being funny but 15 years ago is a long time in football and he didn’t exactly have us playing like Brazil when he walked out. Like a lot better of our managers in that era he over paid for some very average quality

Are you denying we paid big name managers crazy salaries to work for us and we nearly went bankrupt?

So much for his claim he would manage us in non league, not fantasy just reality.

I’m struggling to envisage demands that would be unthinkable to be honest, given who he is and the position we’re in. It was up to the club to get it done. The club failed.

Still, Kristjaan “I used to run Birmingham u14s y’knar” Speakman got his yes man in the end. Let’s hope we strike lucky.

The melts on this thread man, Royston was a car crash waiting to happen!! Done nothing for 10years and really nothing of note bar one season. A total myth that he has the credentials to manage at any level nowadays.
