Crackers you can get same price on half way line
People are odd marraF#cking mentalists on here at times, let’s stop fans being able to watch some games so the ground looks full more often. The extension has meant thousands and thousands of supporters have had the chance to watch games they wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, it blows my mind we have supporters who don’t think that’s a good thing.
Good post. I'm probably unique in thinking we do charge too low a price and we could increase to a degree. No one can tell me people in Middlesbrough are wealthier. No, not saying we should do away with concessions. Maybe we have the West and East stands more limited for concessions, e.g. 18 plus pay full adult price. Or more generally make the 18 to 21 concession a lot less. Keep the u16 as is because crucial to get them hooked.
You still pretending to be a Leeds fan?49k is too big for sunderland.
40,000 to 42,000 is about right.
Can't remember sunderland ever selling out even in the prem. 49k too large.
Yes, agree. One of the few good things Donald did was put the 'free' tickets to bed or so I was told? Technically they weren't free, I understand, as tied to corporate sponsorship deals but nevertheless took them away, whatever the exact number was. Match day prices are going up. 32 to 36 quid now, which is what I pay. I think that's fair enough. For many years, I agreed. However, the club knocked the freebies on the head some time ago and have been upping prices over time. Individual match prices are by no means the cheapest anymore (not saying they should be btw) and ditto season tickets. For many years in the PL they were ridiculously low, but the shite served up dictated that.
Yeah, it’s ok. The gate receipts must be well up from years ago tbh. The way the club is run still suggests we have money issues though!Yes, agree. There has never been 49,000 seats. When it was extended in 2000 Capacity was 48,300. Of that over the next 2 seasons 24 of the 38 home games were home sells outs. Only away clubs not filling there 3,300 allocation meant crowds were were not 48k+ Complete Sell Outs.
I often do a 'what if", ie we sack Reid immediately at or before end of 0102 season and get a better manager in who doesn't waste millions. The 19 and 15 point seasons never happened. We could have continued with stability and without the damage that caused to supporter base and club. Would have been full a lot more.Aye this.
At the time it was definitely the right decision. We have literally never been as good since then and have spent a chunk of the time actually being famous for being spectacularly shit. 15 points and 19 points were both records at the time. We’ve recently finished lower than we ever have in our history. So aye now it is probably too much and 42k would have been fine.. hindsight is a wonderful thing. But bar a handful of clubs in the country nobody can match our support given how utterly dogshit we are
I often wonder what if we stuck it out with Reid in 02/03. No way we go down on 19 points imo.I often do a 'what if", ie we sack Reid immediately at or before end of 0102 season and get a better manager in who doesn't waste millions. ….and stick the family section upstairs. They should make it a proper home end with safe standing and give the South Stand back to the away team.
I remember after we stayed up on the last day with a drab 1-1 Draw at home to Derby in 2002 in front of sell out crowd of 47,989 (Season Average 46,745) we lost 10,000 supporters that summer with first home game of the 2002/03 season vs Everton only getting a crowd of 37,698 as we plummeted to the Championship. Crowds never really recovered even when back in the Premier League as thousands of freebies were being handed to schools to top crowds up over 40k apparentlyI often do a 'what if", ie we sack Reid immediately at or before end of 0102 season and get a better manager in who doesn't waste millions. Wasn't so much the shite, more that football wasn't as popular. For many years, I agreed. However, the club knocked the freebies on the head some time ago and have been upping prices over time. I remember us leading against Leeds on Boxing Day. A win would have taken us out of the bottom three.I often wonder what if we stuck it out with Reid in 02/03. No way we go down on 19 points imo.
We had 8 points after 9 games, which equates to around 33 points over the season. We’d have needed 45 to stay up, which was exceptionally high that year (we’d have needed to up it to around 1.28 points a a game on average), but we’d at least have had more of a shout under Reidy than Wilko.
You sound more like a drug dealer than a football fan mate.Good post. I'm probably unique in thinking we do charge too low a price and we could increase to a degree. Hooked? Yep. We want them addicted to Safc. You sound more like a drug dealer than a football fan mate.
Pricing people out shouldn't be the aspiration. Football has lost enough atmosphere as it is without pricing us ruffians out.Hooked? Yep. We want them addicted to Safc.
We need to look at pricing for over 16s.Pricing people out shouldn't be the aspiration. Football has lost enough atmosphere as it is without pricing us ruffians out.
