And South Shields are a local side in the Sunderland area, as are other numerous non-league sides. Why do people have a problem with this?

What about your telegraph Twitter thread? How can you fit that into your Sunderland or local rival agenda? I'm pretty sure you've replied on other threads not related to them aswell. Are there any other threads on pure football, apart from shields ones that you comment like this on?

I think the key is just to make the sub-forum full of all non-league stuff.

Rather than start a new non league based thread to upset the haters I'll post this here.
What's the best non league match you've ever been at???
For me it was Woking 3 Macclesfield 2 in March 1996.
Woking, Macclesfield, & Stevenage all going for the Conference title that season.
4,500+ crowd & a cracking atmosphere throughout.
Ten man Woking trailing 2-1 at half time & pulling it around in the second half.
Clive Walker on top form, as he always was in the 'big' games.
Honestly it's still in the top 3 matches I've ever seen live no matter what the level.
England 4 Holland 1 a few months later would also be in there nee doubt.
Possibly Sunderland 3 Burnley 2 as well.
Love non league football me like
Salisbury 4-4 Bideford a few months ago, great comeback from my lads from 3-1 down to 4-3 up but to cruelly concede a last gasp equaliser to Bideford.

I have to laugh when I see people using the word 'haters' ...... if there's a more blatant example of someone totally missing the point I've not seen it.
The sheer trembling indignation of the Shields brigade is what encourages people to take the piss and watch how wound up they become.
I'm honest enough to say I only came in response to all the 'one in the eye for the Mackems' shite.
The Shields brigade only see things one way and take no responsibility for the blatant wumming or sneering personal, insults and bad language ....
...... all of this is accepted, even encouraged, if it's in the defence of anything to do with the Mariners.
They keep saying how easy it is to ignore the threads but miss the point that can easily put these 'few' haters on ignore ...... so instead of all this endless bickering why don't you just do that?
The answer is that, secretly, you're lapping up all the attention and know you don't really want your own forum.
You know it would be a handful of people shuffling around a dreary board repeating the same things over and over.

That's why it would be shit, as sub forums generally are particularly when there's not loads of activity/interest. Do we need a mag sub-forum, or a Leicester one, or a Coventry one? Of course not.

These forums are 99% a 'reap what you sow' situation.
Of course there are the 1% genuinely disturbed but that's true in any 'society'.
In truth the Shields brigade had some early fun & support but got carried away and went way OTT.
It's now out of hand yet they lash out continually when a little restraint & conciliation would work better.
But, if truth be told, they're relishing all of this while waving their hands in the air pleading innocence.
