There would be a huge drop in parachute payments and no internationals like Sissoko or Wijnaldum to bridge the gap to the Premier League money.

I imagine they'd certainly breach the stringent Football League FFP rules anyway by having the likes of Shelvey on 80k p/w. Interesting times ahead if they cock it up.

Yesterday told you all you need to know about the ch'ship.
Reading get smashed 5 by mid table fulham, Brum lose 3 nil home to Barnsley who have been in poor form, and brighton fail to win at 3rd bottom Cardiff. There is no way on this earth they will fk promotion up, but a few hic-coughs along the way will make it more interesting.
As for finances, they made 40m profit iirc on transfer dealings in the summer. Add this to the profits they've made the previous 4 seasons ever since selling Carroll, and there's no worries there either unfortunately.

Unfortunately the league seems weaker than ever before.

Sides like derby forest Norwich have been strong in recent seasons and I wondered whether villa might come back strong but none have come through

Their GK came over to the popular corner to gloat on the final whistle. A few heated words were exchanged. As Shildon left the pitch a Shildon player attacked someone hence players and supporters getting involved in fisticuffs. Ref couldn't have seen it as after his performance he was first back to the changers. The gloating GK took a right hander as well I heard hence him raging on the way to changers with disgruntled disabled supporter after him with his walking stick. (Hope no one from DSS was in attendance to stop his benefits)

Anyway, Shields the architects of their own downfall. Two GK howlers and weak as piss effort the last 25 mins v 10 men.

As I'm stuck in the house, with a bout of post match alcoholic poisoning, I thought I'd take a look at next week's fixtures on the BBC site.

Like an idiot I couldn't find Newcastle's then realised you have to go down a league.

Well it turns out it's Birmingham, who could beat them, but what really made me laugh were the 'headlines' coming down the page.

Shelvey's racial abuse.

Child sex abuse. (No laughing matter but it's there.)

Colback's FA misconduct fine for 'illegal' betting.

Newcastle supporters topping the banning order table.

Just another typical week on Tyneside

Not sure child sex abuse is an example of Newcastle 'keeping on giving'.

I agree with the rest of the post, but I think that should really be left to the side. Sex abuse doesn't really have a place in point scoring (and yes, I've seen your white text).
