Local teams

North Shields v Shildon
2 Newton Aycliffe v Morpeth Town
3 Cleethorpes Town v Bootle
4 South Shields v Charnock Richard or Staveley MW
5 Penrith v Atherton Collieries
6 Dunston UTS or Hemsowrth MW v Sunderland RCA

Slightly off topic but Charnock Richard is a service station - visited a few times and never knew they had a footy team :D

Boooooooooooooo and Noooooooooooooo

9th tier Westfields lost at 6th tier Curzon Ashton tonight in their FA Cup 1st Round replay.

Nee 'romance of the cup' story there then.

Not sure exactly who the lowest ranked club left in it is now

Probably Curzon Ashton.

Anyways, Ashington used to be a league team and I didn't see it on a brief perusal of the lists, and of course Wembley stadium once hosted league football.

Tough but winnable tie for Peth, North Shields-Shildon definitely the tie of the round though.
Peth will likely get kicked all ower the park..Their opposition will probs be in the refs lughole from kick off as well so here's hoping for a strong ref .

Was at Wealdstone v Bath City last night. Decent game with a few reasonable players on show and an SAFC connection

Is there anything more magical in football than the cup?

After a brilliant performance in the FA Vase on Saturday, the Mariners turn their attention to the league cup. Tonights game will see them take on second division Blyth Town.

Tickets for this fixture will be available on the gate at £6 for an adult so get yourself down to Mariners Park and support your local team.

This will be my last South Shields game until either West Allotment or Seaham due to the Sunderland fixtures over the next two weeks so I will be hoping for a lot of goals.

Should be a straight forward victory this evening but anything can happen in the cup.

Predictions? I think a very convincing 4-0 home win, Foley and Finnigan to both get a brace.

Up the Mariners and see you all tonight

Superb thread mate. Superb.

Hopefully the lads turn up tonight. Nothing better than a game under floodlights at Mariners Park. I am going with a 3-0 home win. UTM!!!!
