Our support is brilliant but I feel we some sections could do a bit more.

Saying that, you’ve got to be a sad bastard like me to lie in bed and dream up songs to sing at footy.

This is no criticism of the SO37 lads but it did seem to suppress the atmosphere a bit possibly as people couldn't clap their hands? I'd encourage buy in from them to make it better, work in progress and all that?

I said something similar in the other thread on this. The fact everyone was stood holding cards up for the whole of Dance of the Knights (and another half) did take something away.

In my opinion, doing one side of the ground gets the other 3 sides going as you cant help but get emotional and shout when you see the cards / flag / banner go up, like at Sheffield Wednesday.

Again, thank you so much to the people who sorted it; it looked class!!

Brilliant idea. I’m in the SS and still don’t know the Stewart one so this would be helpful even for those that do help generate the atmosphere!

Get a sticky thread on it too

I thought it looked great and a huge thank you to the people who have given their own time up to organise this . I sit in the NE corner and all around people joined in and the kids that were there loved it .
I despair at some of the moaning on here , the horrible 12 o clock graveyard slot of a kick off time had an awful lot to do with the atmosphere, I honestly can’t remember one at that time where it was decent .
With regard to the comments about singing, in the north stand and corners it’s really hard to make out what songs the south stand are singing and it’s only when one of the simple chants gets going that people join in because they can make out what it is.
 
Joke of a thread looked absolutely class. Why are our fans so obsessed with having a small pocket of the ground chanting a rave remix of generic chants? Move with the times we very rarely have good atmospheres at our games and these are class

1) this is the only full stadium display planned. We promised it for Wembley and it was taken out of our hands. We weren’t going to renege on our promise. People donated for a display for 40k people. We delivered that.

2) we’re back to doing it in just the roker end. We the next step is to create a red and white wall. We have all the designs ready to go to send to the printers. 2) I agree the atmosphere throughout the game could’ve been better. Whether that was due to the display or other factors, it remains to be seen.

3) “let the atmosphere do the talking”. The best atmospheres in recent memory are Sheff Wed - display
Play off final - was a final
Chelsea - was keeping us up
Everton - was keeping us up.

4) we’ve only been in existence for a couple of months and we pulled off today. We’re still learning, but I like to think we’re spending peoples money wisely. We have 3 banners and the biggest surfer the SOL has ever seen which can be used and used again.

I reckon that would help loads although you can only do so much. Lead a horse to water cant make it drink and all that. Some people seem to think there should be no signing whatsoever judging by their reluctance to join in.
 
The atmosphere was fairly flat all game, understandably so as it seemed like people were nervy and just wanted to take-in and analyse first 20 mins or so to see how we’d fare. Strange that people keep criticising the display, didn’t seem to disrupt the Sheff Wedd atmosphere.

I agree mate, but it needs funding. I think a big push is needed from this platform, amongst others, and get some serious money raised.
I've donated previously and will be again in the near future, but as we all know, costs are spiralling in everything we do.
These lads need 2k to start a new display in time for QPR at home, but eventually hope to increase it 10 fold to fill the South stand with wavers, whatever the fuck they are. Would be great to get a big injection from the SMB. Haway lads and lasses, get donating.
 
I agree with OP, its a tadge embarrassing the little flags waving around, dont need them really, wish some one could create an atmosphere. Same songs sung in the Fulwell 80/90 s
 
So that people can still clap, could we not be supplied with red and white jumpers next time ? Then everybody could take them home and wear them again at the next match. This would be fairly cost effective in the long run.
