No ashes for the English fans this year

Don’t think it’s been confirmed as until 2022 mate?

Will make the demand for West Indies 2022 ridiculous if it does happen.

More of less

There’s just no chance unfortunately mate

Why would you take the risk if you’re them

There’s still so many unknowns

I’d be optimistic but more as I’d been planning to go to it all.

So disappointed

Its balancing up risk versus reward I guess. And you’d think that you’d happily accept the risk of a vaccinated person.

There are expats there anyway

Also, without getting too much into the science, seems You can still carry it and pass it on even vaccinated, so it pretty much rules it out

It’s too soon like

Usually play a couple in NZ afterwards. I'd rather go to that if we do.

Their border/Covid policy is even tougher than Australia's - can't see that being possible.

Though this is a sign of things to come... Our border will be pretty shut this year. So if you go abroad at all, might have to pay for the privilege of doing two weeks in a f***ing travelodge near Heathrow on your return. That's what the papers reported at the weekend anyway - and there is some sense to it. When we're all vaccinated, but the rest of the world isn't and there are variants that can escape our vaccine, they just can't take a chance otherwise we'll get back stuck into the cycle of lockdown hells that we are now. And, like New Zealand and Australia, we will conclude that for a year, decimating our travel industry isn't worth that risk.

NZ would be 12-13 months away though so a bit more leeway yet.

Australia not letting any tourists in until 2022 at the earliest confirmed today.
Not surprising mate.

When I was on the "Dog" to Qantas in November getting internal refunds the lass on there basically intimated 2021 would be a complete write off for tourists.

What we got there mate? 3 x Tests and 3 x T20's?

Would assume T20's at Barbados again.

For those who do Tests I hope you get Grenada. Fantastic spot.
Surely most people are going to be vaccinated come the autumn? Seems quite excessive.
That's the Antiopdes for ya.

This too.

We ain’t touring NZ. We have just been there and you’re spot on, they wouldn’t let us in either

Everyone in general just needs to put their expectations back

The real question is can we get decent crowds at English test matches

There’s just no chance of thousands of fans going on long haul flights anywhere in the near future. It’s just not going to happen.

There’s the news today that the South African vaccine could possibly avoid immunity and vaccines

This is an ongoing changing thing.

That’s irrelevant though. It’ll mutate and you can still pass it on, or they haven’t proved you can’t

No chance, we’ve just been there too. Not going back this winter

The thing to remember is two weeks to flatten the curve. Then it's a few more weeks because it's not going down fast enough. Then it's a few more months until we get a vaccine. Then oh dear there's a new strain which happens all the time with coronaviruses, here's a few more months and a few more tiers. Then it's you can have had COVID before, and/or a vaccine, but you still have to wear masks and you can still pass on the plague, so you're still locked down. Oh and any deaths after a vaccine are purely coincidental, along with infertility. What's that, many people have a year of shite they're not going to get back compared to less than 1 million (mostly poor quality) years of life lost due to COVID and short term economic armageddon? Oh well, vote us in again for more politicians imposing Communism based on the models of a total dickhead like Neil Ferguson, because politicians making science-based decisions sound about as amazing as scientists doing politics.

Great news mate but there will be other strains etc

They just aren’t going to let thousands fly in, they’ve pretty much already confirmed that
I agree - the Aussies will do what they think is best for their population. Can't blame them at all for that.

There will be other strains - let's hope they fall into the 'more contagious, less dangerous' category (as is the case with lots of virus mutations) or that they will be still susceptible to the vaccines for many years to come as I read in a NY Times article posted on here a few weeks ago.
