Nilson Angulo

Think he looks nervous at the moment, doesnt seem to show for the ball and looks scared to take a man on a lot of the time. Which is bizzare cause when he does he looks a real threat

Little bit of confidence and experience in the league and i think he'll give a fair few Premier League fullbacks an absolute nightmare

RLB made some very strange selection calls lately and that ones a bit baffling to me. He's a good grafter and he has a goal in him. Scored a screamer against Burnley a couple weeks back... not even getting on the pitch now. Doesn't make sense.
Sticky patch
We will now find out a lot about individual players -team spirit -manager ànd the fans .
Been great ànd when it’s good probably easier -now we all need to step up -the connection Reggie talks about has been impressive-hope it remains

I think he played Ta Bi to get a good look at him on the right wing before Traore returns, Mundle had played well against Oxford so was probably chosen as sub over Talbi to see if some confidence would influence his Premier League performance.

Yeah, did wonders, one is injured and the other one's confidence is shot. Masterclass by RLB.
It was an important game, just play the guy who scored a world class goal two games ago. Not the time for experiments.

Not to derail the thread but, Not really the best time to be experimenting though is it. Maybe 5 or 6 points from safety plus we were defending our record of having taken points off every team. Ta Bi must have looked like a worldbeater in training because from what i seen he looked like he'd won a competition. Miles off a starting place in the Premier League.

Thats not my point. Fans labelling new lads ‘absolutely shite’ after a couple of games is unhinged ffs.
Remember at the start of this season Brobbey was written off after 20 mins coming on as a sub, Talbi was slated after his first few games, Traore was a boo boy for at least his first 6 apperences and now folk can't wait to have him back, Diara has a thread about him being not good enough that went up on Sunday.

I reckon there's some utter pellets on this forum from the evidence.

There's mountains of evidence to back up your theory mate

It's been the same for years, you could probably find a thread where people were labelling Jack Clarke as shit when he first arrived. It's like every new signing resets their memory, players need time to settle and games to get up to speed and then show what they can do.

Very rarely does a young player come in from abroad and hits the ground running from the get go. Traore is older but hadn't played for a bit and still folk had a go. Mental mate

Mundle takes that chance and we see out a 1-0 win, suddenly it's talk of Angulo and Ta Bi both having bright moments and showing promise. The result blinds people, it is the same after wins tbf.

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing. The match thread on Saturday was full of positivity with two proper wingers playing. The first time this season there was no negativity on the first pages but now it’s shit by the manager ?? Bunch of wankers.
Do you think it was a correct decision to play both of those young lads at the same time?
The result and the performance suggests not against a side who have a poor away record .
You can believe the manager has done a good job and criticize some of his decisions at the same time .

There's a lot of swapping on the wings which I don't think is beneficial for any of the players.
Like the majority of young lads from abroad, they'll need time and games to get an understanding of the league and team mates

I'm still think our cautious style of play puts a lot of constraints on our attacking players.

It must be a ridiculous step up for the lad from the Israeli league - which I imagine isn't much better then the National League in this country. And the Belgium league, which is probably CHampionship at best. Think we have to remember how good the PL is compared to literally every other league in the world these days, and it takes time for players to adjust.

Two relatively cheap signings who have barely kicked a ball for us.
I was surprised he started both of them together. It would have been amazing had they both come in and been good given where they have come from and the amount of time they have been here. Crazy to write them off yet.

I was personally under the impression that we weren't going to see Jocelin until next season, and Angulo used probably off the bench a lot of this season. That's what Brighton, Bournemouth, and Brentford do so well - sign a lad from Brazil you don't see for a season or too, to the point you've forgotten they're there, but when they come in they're ready.

Takes times for these players to get up to speed and learn the game in this country, we're incredibly physical too - which nobody is properly used to. When we were last in the PL we used to chuck people in because we have to, they'd be a bit shite an dthen they'd be written off - was hoping we'd moved on from that.

He’s dammed if he does and dammed if he don’t. We all wanted proper wingers and a lot were very excited by the line up. Unfortunately it didn’t work out, you the can’t just turn on the manager likes lot have.
Let’s see if he makes the same decision again. Angulo was our only real threat in that first half and he will have benefitted from it. I’m glad they got a chance because we all know Mundle isn’t up to it.
Hopefully Talbi will be straight back in on Saturday.
