Are these still a thing? Sure I read back in October that the Sunderland one was being opened again but heard nothing about it since. Stories in the news saying 90% ICU beds filled so must be near to opening them, or does this figure include those beds?

Don’t think they’ve ever decided what to use them for? Great idea for people who only need Covid treatment. However anyone who also needs any other form of specialist treatment will be fucked.

Until they eventually have hot, warm and cold Covid hospitals/treatment centres it’s all just going to be fucked. (Before anyone asks, I don’t have an answer so I’m obviously just part of the problem).

Purely a preventative measure, if the hospitals had of been overwhelmed there’d be outcry’s we didn’t put anything into place, hospitals haven’t been overwhelmed so we will no doubt get why didn’t we bother building them. Govt couldn’t win either way
Could be used for vaccinations no doubt when it really ramps up distribution wise, would take a lot of the pressure off surgeries I suppose
