I hope they don't let Pietersen destroy his career like that. He should grow up and learn to take the criticism as well as the plaudits. Knight is very easy listening and I like him.

Botham is the weak link in the box as he has been since Willis and Allott were relegated. The fact he got 380 wickets thirty years ago should mean nowt.

Can't see it destroying his career, but I still reckon he might end up on the B list with Charles and co now again. Personally I don't mind Knight either, he is clearly very passionate about the game. Botham is there just because of his stature in game, he just seems to either go into a rant, or just lark around poking fun at Nasser. Atherton and Bumble are my personal favourites currently.

Knight and Botham - the bland leading the bland.

i dont think botham is bland at all, he might not really know what he is talking about and sound like a fool from time to time, but even that's entertaining, and the banter in the box is quality and he is a part of that.

This. He's one of the worst on Sky but that's only because Sky's commentators are mostly excellent, I think he's decent.

Gower is the one I really dislike, he's as dull as hell IMO.

this is why gower will never be dull

still cracks me up as much as it did at 2am in the morning

What a job all them must have. Travel the world, getting paid a fortune. All expenses paid. Nee pressure at all and are talking about the game they all love

Job of dreams

But theyre very good at their jobs. There are plenty of times during a day of test cricket where it is quite dull but its worth keeping it on for the Sky commentary team (TMS very good as well). No football commentating team on the radio or tele would keep my attention like that if the game was crap.

Apart from Knight, I think all the commentators bring good qualities. Gower is excellent IMO as well. Very polished presenter and very dry.

I totally agree marra, times when it is better viewing during a rain break when they are talking about the game then actually watching the cricket itself

Love listening to Holding talking about the West Indies game

kind of breaks my heart though.

agree that TMS team is good too, spoilt for choice really, i love the sky team but equally the tms is almost compulsive listening, have been known to have flashsport muted and 5live extra on over the top.

my great hope is one day marty emmers gets onto the tms team. and collingwood onto the sky team.

each to there own, opinion will always be divided to a certain degree

That's why I think Sky's commentary team is the best there is. They offer something for every type of cricket fan. All of them are informative for what's actually happening, but between balls/overs they're very entertaining for people who want to hear about them taking the piss out of each other's careers.

I do think they should keep Knight out of the studio between the sessions though, best left to commentate and leave the analysis to those who can get off the fence.

agreed 100%.

Quality bit of Gower just then, talking about Pietersen.

Botham: He's Box office. The sort of batsman who empties bars. As opposed to those who fill them [looking at Atherton]
Gower: Or those who just drink in them [looking at Botham]

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

And this is why Sky is class  Bumble going crackers with the groundsmen
