I was talking to a regular down the Riverside on Sunday who told me he had been informed by someone within the club that we were getting an Aussie replacement for Petersen. The bloke I was talking to could only remember his surname began with M and looked like Jason Gillespie so Maddinson fits that description.

I’d have preferred a bowler myself
If we regularly lose Potts and Lees to England we need Superman as our overseas.
Given the way the season has gone so far that’s a reasonable enough ‘request’, but I still feel there should (emphasis on should) be enough bowling depth in the squad to get by.
