Wouldn't mind seeing us get an Aussie across before the Ashes. You know they'd jump at the chance of getting their eye in and getting used to English conditions.

Shane Watson for me.

Obviously when the Ashes come around he won't be available so on that note if Gloucestershire (?) don't renew ties, I'd like to see Kane Williamson here.

Probably best to get one of the fringe Aussie players like
P hughes or D Bollinger

Chanderpaul for cc
Ross Taylor and Sunil Narine for t20

Call me old school but I want a bloke who's going to be with us all season and play in all formats of the game. To me, the better players can play all formats. I don't like all this crack of getting a player in for a month when the slogathon is on.

IF we get someone in for the T20 next season, I'd love to see Gibbs back.

well u aint never gonna get anyone half decent for a full season as the IPL overlaps into the domestic season here.

Ed Cowan.

Durham wont show any ambition and bring someone in for lvcc.

More interested in lining their pockets through 20/20 - although that has failed this year. Out at the group stage and poor crowds.

There's plenty of very good county standard cricketers who don't go to the IPL mate. I'd imagine Durham will be looking to fill MDV's boots with someone from overseas - or atleast they f***ing should be! I'm still a firm believer that if you can score 1,000 runs a season in the CC then you can hold a bat in CB40 and T20 aswell. I don't think the whole chopping and changing for different formats really helps the team anyway. Good cricketers can play all formats and we should be looking to bring players to the club who are good cricketers. You want I'd say 8 or 9 lads who play week in, week out no matter what the format.

I know that- was responding to the posts earlier which were intimating an overseas.

I was talking Overseas though Rip. There's still loads of good quality Aussies/Saffers who don't play IPL who can be acquired.

I'd like to see us have the ambition to try and get Mike Hussey over to play from the start of the season until he's needed for the Ashes - he's just the kind of lad who would've been great for us this year. While our batsmen were failing and throwing their wicket away he might have been able to graft and dig in a bit more.

Or perhaps David Hussey?!!

Bloody hell, has anyone been watching the Aussies over the last few weeks? These aren't even the fringe players

(either Hussey would be good signings, not sure Mike will fancy it, just had his 4th kid and the Ashes tour will be long enough away from home)
