I can remember that. The kits looked quite smart but the replicas were supposedly really bad. I remember the clubs having to come out with statements apologising for the poor quality and they were working with Hummel to try and get improvements.
That is absolutely lifting.

Said this before, but back in 2008 I bought a Cork City football shirt, which was made by Hummel. The quality was absolutely atrocious. The chevrons started peeling off from my body heat alone when playing football.

if it meant we got more money, who gives a shite what template we use. Half of our fans have a go at the others for daring to wear our kits anyway

I don't understand how some people think they should have teams of designers knocking up kits for us. What tends to happen is the big boys get a kit and then that's thrown out the following season as a template, hence the Ipswich kit for next season looking like Chelseas from this season.

The bits on the arms still look shit, and the material looks like the shiny cheap stuff you get from a kit in Benidom. God knows how anyone can think that shirt looks class.

Tbf to Macron they just seem to be copying what Nike were doing about seven year ago with the sleeve trim and Puma with the sides of the sleeves and then Adidas with the collar (different coloured button) from about 15 year ago. I wouldn't be surprised if you peeled that Macron logo off they'd be someone else's logo underneath it.
